If so, we're looking for you.</p> <p>The Delivery Excellence Lead has the responsibility to help the team achieve its goals while supporting the development of a cross-functional team to deliver incremental value. You are a change agent that works with people and teams to help them improve and deliver their best work. The role largely includes Scrum Master accountabilities while having the ability to partner with Product Owners and Stakeholders to facilitate Product Discovery using collaborative practices, such as User Story Mapping and Design Thinking approaches to define a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that incrementally meets business needs. This will include supporting the Product Owner and Team to refine user stories to just enough detail that enables sufficient technical documentation required by the development team (e.g., sequence diagrams informed by Epics and User Stories with clear acceptance criteria). You will have experience facilitating teaming agreements that align to agile ways of working, principles, and values. Experience facilitating agile teams through the full delivery lifecycle; product discovery, delivery, UAT, Go-Live activities and post-production support is a plus.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Facilitates Quarterly Planning: Working with a team or Value Stream Owner, facilitate the team in creating an agile, incremental release plan with clear objectives, while identifying risks and issues. Helps the team and product owner to create clear objectives that align to business expectations (understand SMART goals). Facilitate where trade-offs need to be made to align demand with the true capacity of the team.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate Dependencies: Coordinate with other teams to ensure cooperation and ability to mitigate the impact of or removal of dependencies between teams. Determine how teams will collaborate on feature development and foster communication.</p> </li><li> <p>Partner with Product Owner and Key Stakeholders to understand and apply customer centric and design thinking techniques to build the right thing and to build it right. This may include modelling epic level user acceptance criteria in the product backlog (ability to create supporting artifacts when needed a plus, e.g. mock ups, workflow diagrams). Ensure the team understands the need for clear and concise team backlog items.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate Team Events - understand key differences between facilitating a Scrum and Kanban Team, while enabling teams to plan, refine backlogs, conduct reviews and demos, inspect and retrospect. In other words, lead the team and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle process using Agile practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate stakeholder collaboration as needed, while supporting business testing, training and adoption of new technologies and systems integration.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor and improve flow of work by eliminating bottlenecks, delays and waste collaboratively with the team. Support the team to optimize their Kanban board to visualize work and enhance flow. Understand and report on Team Flow Metrics, such as throughput, cycle times, defect trends, and delivery of increments of work towards meeting business objectives or success criteria.</p> </li><li> <p>Proactive at resolving, escalating and removing blockers from team progress.</p> </li><li> <p>Directing and supervising 1 to 2 direct reports.</p> </li></ul> <p>REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree or 5+ years project management in an agile environment, including Scrum Master, or other delivery experience in software development.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience creating budgets, facilitating review cycles, and managing to cost and capital and expense considerations.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates clearly while conveying information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.</p> </li><li> <p>Navigates ambiguity and complex relationships with stakeholders and Product Owners at various levels.</p> </li><li> <p>Effective decision making: Identifying and understanding issues, problems, and opportunities; comparing data from different sources to draw conclusions; using effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions; taking action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences.</p> </li><li> <p>Gaining others' confidence by acting with integrity and following through on commitments while disclosing own positions; treating others and their ideas with respect and supporting them in the face of challenge.</p> </li><li> <p>Guides team success by using appropriate methods and a flexible interpersonal style to build, motivate, and guide a cohesive team to complete team goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with full stack development and complex system integration initiatives are a plus.</p> </li><li> <p>You can speak just enough of the language of a software developer e.g., having a basic understanding of software development practices such as source code management, branching strategies, familiarity with BDD and TDD, as well as application & system architecture diagramming.</p> </li><li> <p>Schedules will vary depending on business needs, and may entail working nights, weekends and holidays. Must be flexible to work outside of departmental operating hours.</p> </li></ul>
