<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Clinical Laboratory Assistant performs laboratory non-technical tasks to assist laboratory workflow. Performs other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:</p> <ul> <li>Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. </li><li>Monitors pending lists and assists with Add on testing. </li><li>Manages specimens to be given to technical staff for pending tests. </li><li>Processes send out testing to be placed on a packing list to a referral laboratory </li><li>Monitors inventory as required for par levels and storage </li><li>Answers phones and places phone calls are requested. </li><li>Removes and discards specimens that are no longer needed. </li><li>Investigate location and status of specimens in the LIS </li><li>Place specimens in centrifuge and on automated track systems. </li><li>Records temperature, humidity, and other maintenance logs as needed. </li><li>Performs all other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience Requirements</p> <ul> <li>High School graduate or GED </li><li>Basic computer skills. </li><li>Previous laboratory experience or previous experience in a healthcare environment preferred. </li></ul> <p>Core Competencies</p> <p>Flexibility Organized Adaptability Attention to Detail Stress Tolerance</p> <p>Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment</p> <ul> <li></li><li>May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks.
