This position assists with the coordination of all instructional and academic activities within the department and provides assistance with curriculum/course development.</p> <p>Most postings are open for a limited time, depending upon the number of applications received. Please apply immediately.</p> <p>Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.</p> <ul> <li>Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner; supervises and evaluates student clinical performance </li><li>Teaches courses in accordance with published course descriptions </li><li>Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance, submits information in accordance with institutional and departmental policies </li><li>Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment; uses equipment safely and proficiently </li><li>Grades and returns student work in a timely manner </li></ul> <p>Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the program</p> <p>Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course</p> <p>Prepares appropriately and thoroughly for each instructional hour as assigned</p> <p>Maintains regular office hours</p> <p>Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom</p> <p>Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching</p> <p>Provides instruction as needed to fill in for classes due to unexpected adjunct faculty absences</p> <p>Assists with handling student concerns</p> <p>Assists with ongoing course development, evaluation, and revision as needed to maintain compliance with accreditation bodies</p> <p>Assists with orientation and registration of students</p> <p>Assists with collection and analysis of departmental IE assessment data</p> <p>Maintains current knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progress</p> <p>Actively participates in department meetings and assisting with planning and serving in leadership</p> <p>Collaborates with Program Director and Director to adequately budget for equipment, supplies, and professional development needs for the department</p> <p>Works closely with the staff and instructors to ensure effective communication within the department</p> <p>Serves on college or department committees as needed</p> <p>Attends professional development opportunities when possible</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:</p> <p>Ability to work a schedule which may include evenings and weekends</p> <p>Ability to maintain confidentiality</p> <p>Ability to work independently on a wide variety of professional tasks</p> <p>Exhibit strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills to deal effectively with the various college staff, faculty, students and members of the community</p> <p>Ability to work with a diverse student population to help them reach their maximum potential</p> <p>Ability to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently</p> <p>Demonstrates good organizational skills</p> <p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Be licensed as a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist in North Carolina for at least two years OR</p> <p>Hold a state license or certification from a state other than North Carolina in massage and bodywork therapy for at least two years</p> <p>Preferences:</p> <p>Training in the following teaching methods:</p> <p>Presentation skills</p> <p>Development and implementation of lesson plans</p> <p>Dynamics of the teacher/student relationship</p> <p>Management of the classroom environment</p> <p>Evaluation of student performance</p> <p>Instructional strategies for the adult learner</p> <p>Accommodation for students with special needs</p> <p>Experience teaching at the community college level</p> <p>Supervisory or leadership experience</p> <p>As an equal employment opportunity employer, Wake Tech values our workforce.
