<p>Assists in the maintenance and landscaping needs of agency grounds and properties. Typically performs a variety of tasks, including sod laying, mowing, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, mulching, and minor grounds repairs.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Assists in the maintenance and upkeep of the agency property. </li><li>Use of hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or similar tools used for landscaping/grounds maintenance. </li><li>Use of power tools, including riding mowers and weed trimmers. </li><li>Safely operates all equipment as instructed. </li><li>Report on safety issues to the supervisor. </li><li>Mixes fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders. </li><li>Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls. </li><li>Use various irrigation methods to adjust water consumption to prevent waste. </li><li>Keeps tools and equipment clean and in good repair. Reports broken equipment/tools to the supervisor and does not use tools that are malfunctioning or are unsafe to operate. </li><li>Maintains little to no contact with clients. </li><li>Communicate thoroughly and professionally with coworkers, staff, and clients. </li><li>Hours vary depending on the weather and the property's needs. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or GED required. </li><li>Minimum 18 years of age at the time of hire. </li><li>Driving record of no more than two moving violations or at-fault accidents in any combination in the past three years and no major moving violations within the past three years. </li><li>Clear background and child abuse registry checks. </li><li>Experience with landscaping/groundskeeping tools and equipment. </li></ul>
