No Pay Information $48,000 - $54,000 Pay Schedule Annually FLSA Designation Exempt Position Summary</p> <p>The Transfer Coordinator/Advisor is a grant funded position and is instrumental in guiding students through their transition from Metropolitan Community College (MCC) to the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). This role involves providing personalized academic advising, assisting with applications, financial aid, and scholarships, and ensuring students have the necessary resources for a smooth transfer process. They also assist with advising Exploratory Studies students as needed. Additionally, the Transfer Coordinator/Advisor organizes transfer events, serves on committees at both institutions, and conducts evaluations of transfer credit to streamline procedures.</p> <p>Job Duties</p> <p>Responsibility Area: Advising and Support Duties:</p> <p>Provide personalized guidance and support to MetroMavs and transfer students Assist students in understanding and navigating the transfer process, including applications, financial aid (FAFSA), scholarships, and other relevant paperwork. Conduct regular check-ins with students to monitor their progress and address any concerns or challenges they may encounter. Collaborate with academic departments and support services at both MCC and UNO to ensure students have access to necessary resources. Evaluate and assess MetroMavs program success. Make recommendations to director on areas of improvement and potential opportunities. Provide academic advising and support to UNO students in Exploratory Studies. Coordinate UNO advising events as needed. Required to work offsite at community college partner locations multiple times per week.</p> <p>Percentage Of Time 60 Essential Function: Yes Responsibility Area: Transfer Duties:</p> <p>Transfer Event Coordination: Organize and facilitate transfer events and programming, such as Transfer Week and MCC and UNO Mini Summer Conference (serve as co-chair), to engage students and staff to provide them with valuable information and networking opportunities. Collaborate with campus partners to develop and implement transfer-oriented workshops, panels, and information sessions.</p> <p>Transfer Credit Evaluation: Conduct thorough evaluations of transfer credit to ensure accurate and efficient processes for transfer students. Work closely with academic advisors and registrar offices at both institutions to streamline credit transfer procedures and resolve any discrepancies or issues.</p> <p>University Involvement: Participate in university committees, programs, and events; represent MAC and UNO to campus stakeholders and community college partners.</p> <p>MAC Strategic Initiatives and Mission Priorities: Actively participate in strategic planning and lead implementation of tactics to strengthen mission-aligned programs and services.</p> <p>Percentage Of Time 40 Essential Function: Yes</p> <p>Required and Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Required Education</p> <p>Master's degree in relevant field (Business, Technology, Education, Communications, Student Affairs Administration, etc.)</p> <p>Required Experience</p> <ul> <li>1-2 years of working with transfer students </li><li>Experience working in higher education, particularly in advising, student support, or transfer services. </li><li>Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. </li></ul> <p>Required License/Certification</p> <p>NA</p> <p>Required Additional Qualifications:</p> <p>NA</p> <p>Preferred Education</p> <p>Master's degree in student affairs administration.</p> <p>Preferred Experience</p> <ul> <li>2-4 years of experience working with transfer students </li><li>Experience with large scale event planning </li><li>Experience with transfer articulation and evaluation </li><li>Strong knowledge of academic policies, procedures, and resources related to transfer credit, admissions, financial aid, and scholarships. </li></ul> <p>Preferred License/Certification Preferred Additional Qualifications:</p> <p>Compliance Requirements</p> <p>Credit Check No Motor Vehicle Licensing Validity Check No Pre-employment Physical Request and Assessment No Drug Screen No</p>
