The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.</p> <p>NOTE:</p> <p>A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.</p> <p>The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <p>The Information Technology Division provides management of the computing systems for each of the Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry locations and supports all users. This position is supervised by the Director of Information Technology Services and supervises the IT Tech Support Supervisors and the IT Project Leader.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist and support the application group in creation, design, and support of in-house applications.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists the Director in supervising the Information Technology Division and performs additional functions as assigned by the Director.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead major IT projects, or major LDAF projects that require significant IT involvement.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise the IT Tech Support Supervisors (Helpdesk and System Admin) and IT Project Leader (Applications).</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in planning, administering, and forecasting budgets for all information systems including software, hardware, telecommunications, consultants for software, hardware and enterprise-wide network administration in terms of time, feasibility, and statewide departmental impact</p> </li></ul> <p>Other duties may be assigned as necessary</p> <p>Functional Requirements:</p> <p>Occasional walking and standing</p> <p>Climbing stairs</p> <p>Occasional reaching above shoulder height</p> <p>Occasional bending or kneeling</p> <p>Lifting items such as briefcase, computer, scanner, luggage, or other items used in performance of duties</p> <p>Sit over a long period of time at workstation or in a vehicle for travel</p> <p>Drive a vehicle in performance of duties</p> <p>Environmental Factors:</p> <p>Working indoors and occasionally outdoors</p> <p>Occasional excessive heat and humidity</p> <p>Occasionally required to wear appropriate safety protection</p> <p>Position-Specific Details:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Full-time, this position may be filled by probation or by promotion of a classified employee of Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry serving with permanent status.</p> </li><li> <p>Applicants who are not permanent employees of Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry will be required to serve a probationary period up to 24 months.</p> </li></ul> <p>Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.</p> <p>How To Apply:</p> <p>No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.</p> <p>To apply for this vacancy, click on the "Apply" link above and complete an electronic application, which can be used for this vacancy as well as future job opportunities.
