<p>Hoosac Valley Regional School District is seeking a High School Special Education teacher for the next school year. The Lead teacher will service various grade levels through specially designed instruction and support to access the curriculum. Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Design and implement an effective classroom learning environment </li><li>Set and maintain behavioral expectations appropriate to the class and school environment *Oversee all classroom and related activities to ensure the health, safety and general well-being of all participants </li><li>Develop and implement Individualized education plans </li><li>Schedule IEP team meetings for all students on caseload </li><li>Prepare daily written lessons plans for class coordinated with the students' IEP goals and objectives </li><li>Collect data and use it to inform instructional practices </li><li>Write progress reports </li><li>Monitor and revise IEPs to ensure full educational benefits </li><li>Supervise and provide direct instruction to paraprofessionals and other staff to ensure maximum utilization of their time and skills </li><li>Attend and participate in school meetings </li><li>Communicate with parents/guardians of students in a timely manner </li><li>Coordinate with specialists (PT, OT, Speech, BCBA, SAC) to facilitate therapeutic strategies across content areas </li><li>Participate in the evaluation of students </li><li>Attend all required professional development </li></ul>
