Follow us on LinkedIn.</p> <p>ROLE SUMMARY</p> <p>The Lab Technician supports day-to-day laboratory operations with a primary focus on hydrocarbon extraction, refinement, and distillation processes. Responsibilities include intaking raw materials, setting up and operating equipment, managing batch records, maintaining facility and equipment cleanliness, and ensuring all tasks follow SOPs, GMP standards, and safety protocols.</p> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>All candidates must be able to work in an environment with a safety culture. Extended periods of standing, bending, reaching, and high dexterity functions are required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions, including but not limited to:</p> <p>Extraction, Refinement & Distillation</p> <ul> <li>Perform all hydrocarbon extraction processing steps including material preparation, system operation, solvent recovery, and post-processing. </li><li>Operate distillation equipment for refinement of extracted oils. </li><li>Conduct filtration, solvent removal, terpene collection, and refinement processes. </li><li>Execute scheduled batches and complete batch records. </li><li>Monitor extraction parameters, temperatures, pressures, and yields. </li></ul> <p>Data, Documentation & Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Organize and maintain data related to extraction and distillation. </li><li>Maintain seed-to-sale tracking accuracy. </li><li>Follow GMP-aligned SOPs and improve workflow documentation. </li><li>Assist with forecasting material needs and potency/yield analysis. </li></ul> <p>Safety & Equipment Maintenance</p> <ul> <li>Maintain strict safety and injury-prevention focus. </li><li>Handle hazardous waste properly. </li><li>Keep lab equipment and workspaces clean and organized. </li><li>Inspect and maintain extraction and distillation equipment. </li></ul> <p>Inventory & Material Handling</p> <ul> <li>Maintain inventory of raw materials, solvents, supplies, equipment, and finished goods. </li><li>Receive, store, and label materials per SOPs. </li><li>Track solvent use, recovery, and replenishment. </li><li>Assist in training new technicians. </li><li>Support the Tech 2 and Laboratory Manager in workflow improvements. </li><li>Communicate effectively across departments. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>2+ years of extraction, distillation, or related lab experience. </li><li>Hydrocarbon extraction experience preferred. </li><li>Familiarity with GMP compliance. </li><li>Strong math, data, and computer skills. </li><li>Knowledge of safe handling of chemicals and hazardous materials. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related field preferred, but not required. </li></ul> <p>SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Understanding of chemistry and extraction principles. </li><li>Mechanical aptitude. </li><li>Excellent organization and time management. </li><li>Strong communication skills. </li><li>Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Reliable, detail-oriented, and team-oriented. </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT</p> <p>Laboratory and manufacturing setting with extraction equipment, solvents, PPE, and standard office tools.</p> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
