<p>Description</p> <p>Under occasional supervision, performs responsible legal secretarial, clerical and bookkeeping work in support of efficient and effective department operations, including the preparation and maintenance of accurate Traffic Court records. Performs related work as assigned. Reports to the Administrative Service Manager.</p> <p>Examples of Duties</p> <p>Assist the public prior to court, calculates, receives and posts payments for fines, record payments daily, process daily deposits, and miscellaneous reports.</p> <p>Assists attorneys, defendants, court personnel, law enforcement personnel, magistrates, and others in completing various legal forms as required for court, and in obtaining information and copies of court documents.</p> <p>Establishes and maintains an effective filing system for traffic tickets, court documents.</p> <p>Answers the telephone; provides accurate information to callers and/or forwards calls to appropriate personnel; greets and assists the public.</p> <p>Receives and responds to public / County staff inquiries, complaints and requests for assistance with regard to court policies and procedures.</p> <p>Performs other clerical work, including but not limited to typing correspondence, copying and filing documents, retrieving files, sending and receiving faxes, maintaining supply inventory, processing daily mail, etc.</p> <p>Operates a variety of equipment such as a computer, printer, typewriter, fax machine, copier, calculator, telephone, etc.</p> <p>Uses clerical and computer supplies.</p> <p>Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, co-workers, other County personnel, law enforcement personnel, attorneys, court personnel, defendants, plaintiffs, various other government agencies, and the general public.</p> <p>Performs light housekeeping duties as necessary in the office and court rooms.</p> <p>Performs related duties as required.</p> <p>Typical Qualifications</p> <p>REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Minimum Level of Job-Related Education:</p> <p>High School Diploma or General Education Diploma</p> <p>Minimum Amount of Job-Related Experience:</p> <p>Prefer one to two years of experience in office support, in a legal or court environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Banking experience.</p>
