Coordinates activities and provides information support; orders and shelves books & materials, maintains inventory, circulates materials, provides literacy guidance and enrichments to students, supports flexible daily access, utilization of print and electronic resources, and classroom instruction with information literacy, research, and 21st century skills under the direction of the classroom teacher. Develops and promotes good community relations among various school and community clientele.</p> <p>Position Specific Information (if Applicable):</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Manage loans between DCSD school libraries (ILL loans)</p> <p>Organize and reshelve returned items</p> <p>Process returned materials such as books, textbooks, and other resources</p> <p>Loan library materials such as books, textbooks, and other resources to students, staff, and other DCSD school patrons</p> <p>Schedule and support activities for the library program which may include author days, reading promotions and incentives, and school-wide literacy activities</p> <p>Help plan and participate in special library events (district-wide events and school specific events)</p> <p>Support DCSD curriculum and reading advocacy; supervise students in the library in conjunction with a licensed teacher</p> <p>Assist classroom teachers in maintaining supportive learning environments in the LMC in accordance with information literacy/research standards and DCSD's priority learning outcomes</p> <p>Attend District trainings pertaining to the library: Destiny, databases and digital resources, collection development, weeding, purchasing, etc.</p> <p>Duties include instruction, supervision, management, and programming in the Library Media Center</p> <p>Perform other library related duties as assigned or requested</p> <p>Manage training, scheduling, and supervising of student assistants/aides and community volunteers in the LMC</p> <p>Perform necessary record-keeping for all library resources, including a full inventory of all resources no less than every two years</p> <p>Perform routine tasks such as answering phone calls, maintain a clean and organized library environment, and other necessary tasks</p> <p>Assist students and staff when using print and/or DCSD digital resources</p> <p>Follow the DCSD media policy and board policies pertaining to the library</p> <p>Manage materials using our library management software (Destiny)</p> <p>Maintain and repair library materials</p> <p>Certifications:</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>High School or Equivalent (Required)</p> <p>Skills:</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Regular</p> <p>Primary Location:</p> <p>Redstone Elementary</p> <p>One Year Only (Yes or No):</p> <p>No</p> <p>Scheduled Hours Per Week:</p> <p>19.5</p> <p>FTE:</p> <p>0.49</p> <p>Approx Scheduled Days Per Year:</p> <p>176 Work Days</p> <ul> <li>(260 days indicates a year-round position.
