<p>Annual Salary:</p> <p>$64,135.50 - $68,640.00</p> <p>Hourly:</p> <p>$32.89 - $35.20</p> <p>Department:</p> <p>Environmental Services, Public Service</p> <p>Division:</p> <p>Yard Waste/Bulk</p> <p>FLSA:</p> <p>Non-Exempt</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>$3,000 BONUS</p> <p>$1,500 ON FIRST CHECK AND $1,500 AFTER 120-DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT</p> <p>This role will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in collecting garbage or trash or transporting refuse to disposal sites.</p> <p>Examples of Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Supervises the collection routes for assigned section. </li><li>Ensures that all personnel are adequately trained to carry out their duties. </li><li>Ensures compliance with safety policies and conducts monthly safety meeting. </li><li>Plans and schedules daily workload and assigns personnel to routes. </li><li>Ensures that all equipment is properly maintained, clean and ready for use. </li><li>Responsible for resolving and responding to environmental complaints and requests from citizens and subordinates. </li><li>Reviews collection routes periodically, adds new annexations to existing routes and make route changes, as necessary. </li><li>Investigates incidents and accidents of personnel & provides draft report to superintendent </li><li>Ensures that the work on all routes is competed daily. </li><li>Completes all reports as prescribed. </li><li>Conducts employee evaluations. </li><li>Coordinates with Fleet Management regarding equipment repairs and scheduled inspections. </li><li>Attends community meetings, as needed. </li><li>Analyzes and resolves work problems and assists workers in solving work problems. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's Degree (AS/AS) and 4 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Valid South Carolina Driver's License. </li><li>Valid Commercial Driver's Permit - Class B within 6 months of employment </li><li>Valid Commercial Driver's License - Class B within 1 year of employment </li></ul> <p>The City of Charleston is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity ( EEOC) as a fundamental policy to be implemented and observed in our daily operation.
