<p>What We Offer Novant Health Southeastern Spine Institute is looking for a Medical Assistant! Location: 1625 Hospital Drive, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464 Status: Full Time Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm The Novant Health Southeastern Spine Institute is a world-class specialty center offering the best in spine health expertise, technology, and procedures, including orthopedic spine surgery, neurosurgery, pain management, and physical medicine/rehabilitation. Our facility includes a state-of-the-art clinic, committed to providing a compassionate, quality-focused patient experience. What You'll Do Key Responsibilities: Scribe: Supporting the Provider with scribe duties as needed. Providing Compassionate Support: Your empathy and calm demeanor can help alleviate anxiety and create a sense of comfort and continuity throughout their treatment journey. Enhancing Clinical Efficiency: By managing patient flow, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with procedures, you set the team up for success and ensure patients receive remarkable care. Ensuring Coordinated Care: You are a vital link in the communication chain between the patient and the healthcare team. By accurately documenting information and coordinating appointments, you help ensure that every step of a patient's complex treatment plan is organized and seamless. What We're Looking For Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Must be a graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program; Medical Assistant curriculum must include pharmacology and medication administration. Certification/registry must be obtained by the last day of the sixth month of hire, and an education agreement signed. Certification/registry accepted: CMA with the American Associate of Medical Assistants (AAMA), CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA), RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT), American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) American Allied Health (AAH), and RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). Alternative Work Experience (for eligibility to take NHA, ARMA, NHCWA, NCCT, NAHP or AMT exams, if not already certified or registered on hire): Applicant shall be employed as a supervised medical assistant for a minimum of one (1) year (NHA or NHCWA) within the last three (3) years, for a minimum of 2 years (NCCT, NAHP), for a minimum of 3 years (ARMA), for a minimum of 5 years (AMT) of the last 7 years (with no more than 2 of those years as an instructor in a post-secondary medical assistant program). Or graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing. Experience must include both clinical (including medication administration) and administrative duties. Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License, required. Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
