If this is something you want to be a part of, we look forward to receiving your application.</p> <p>Summary of Position</p> <p>The Café Barista at The Maybourne Beverly Hills is responsible for serving high-quality coffee/tea beverages by delivering a 5-Star luxury experience that follow our hotels standards to ensure guest satisfaction.</p> <p>Roles and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards. </li><li>Ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis. </li><li>Maintain complete knowledge of ingredients and potential allergens for all menu items. Clearly communicate any allergies to Chef and Manager/Supervisor upon receiving guest order to ensure guest safety and minimize potential risk. </li><li>Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended. </li><li>Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up and dress code of the restaurant. </li><li>Complete opening side duties as assigned: </li><li>Check quality and amount of all restaurant stock and supplies using checklist. </li><li>Fold napkins. </li><li>Requisition all necessary supplies and transport from storeroom to restaurant. </li><li>Set tables according to service standards </li><li>Set up all condiments and beverages according to service standards. </li><li>Ensure a sufficient supply of all silverware, glassware and chinaware for service. Supplies must be perfectly polished, without any water spots and blemishes. </li><li>Check cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas; rectify any deficiencies. </li><li>Set upside station with supplies and equipment. </li><li>Take guests' food and beverage orders, utilizing suggestive selling techniques. </li><li>Record order of guest following departmental service procedures. </li><li>Clearly communicate special menu requests and/or allergies to Chef and Manager/Supervisor and confirm details prior to placing order on POS. </li><li>Input order into POS and ensure transmission of food orders is verified by kitchen. Follow specific order placing technique while entering order. </li><li>Legibly document orders when system is down and distribute food orders to kitchen. </li><li>Retrieve all alcoholic beverage items from bar and serve to guest in accordance with the departmental standards. </li><li>Make all varieties of coffee in accordance with the departmental standards. </li><li>Serve all non-alcoholic beverage items to the guest in accordance with departmental standards. </li><li>Acknowledge guest and anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and with a sense of urgency. </li><li>Maintain positive guest relations at all times. </li><li>Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately. </li><li>Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned station and service areas. </li><li>Remove soiled wares from tables as assigned and transport to dishwashing area. </li><li>Polish glassware and silverware as needed. </li><li>Attend daily meetings with service team and management prior to start of shift. </li><li>Collect and report tips at the end of the assigned shift. </li><li>Complete closing side duties: </li><li>Safely store all reusable goods. </li><li>Breakdown all goods as specified in departmental standards. </li><li>Clean all equipment as assigned in the side duties. </li><li>Restock items for next service. </li><li>Remove all dirty linen. </li><li>Reset tables for next meal period. </li><li>Complete all closing reports as assigned and leave duty after reporting to supervisor. </li><li>Exhibit a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with guests and fellow colleagues. </li><li>Perform and execute all other duties as assigned by hotel management. </li><li>Mix drinks, cocktails and other bar beverages as ordered and in compliance with hotel standard drink recipes. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent education required </li><li>Minimum of one year experience in Food and Beverage </li><li>Minimum of one year experience in customer service </li><li>Exceptional guest recovery skills </li><li>Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest's service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data. </li><li>Ability to understand guests' service needs </li><li>Ability to be well organized, maintain concentration and think clearly when providing service to guests within any given period of time </li><li>Ability to focus attention on details </li><li>Ability to suggestively sell restaurant menu items, beverages, and wines; ability to access and input information into P.O.S. system </li><li>Proven ability to maintain good coordination and timing while serving orders quickly; ability to exert physical effort in transporting food and beverage guests </li><li>Language: Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages also preferred </li><li>Minimum 21 years of age to serve alcohol. </li><li>Must possess RBS ABC Certification </li><li>Must possess Food Handler's certification </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Consistently communicates with guest and staff members, therefore must be able to communicate, converse with and exchange information </li><li>Must be able to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, and assess from long distances </li><li>Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic). </li><li>Ability stand at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. </li><li>Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks </li><li>Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry heavy trays and equipment, as well as delicate china and barware </li><li>Must be physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period. </li><li>Must be physically able to stand for extended period </li><li>The position requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, repetitive motion, bending and climbing </li><li>Position requires walking and standing most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length </li><li>Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks </li><li>Ability to endure abundant physical movements throughout the work areas. </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer:</p> <p>Maybourne is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity.
