<p>Job Description:</p> <p>GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>In this full-time, tenure-track position, in the Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) Program based in Plymouth, MA, the Faculty Member will teach courses from the Department's rigorous aviation curriculum and provide lecture and laboratory instruction in aviation technical subjects. Successful candidates will leverage advanced aviation technologies, and aviation simulation, to teach a diverse student population. Students are enrolled in the Aviation Maintenance Technician (General, Airframe and Powerplant), Associate of Applied Science Degree. There are multiple vacant positions for the Fall 2025 semester.</p> <p>EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and consistently integrate industry-standard safety practices into all aspects of instruction, hands-on training, and student engagement. </li><li>Be prepared to lecture and teach in a professional academic environment, including classroom and labs. </li><li>Must maintain high student engagement, including office hours and professional student mentorship. </li><li>Participate actively in College, Department, and Division service work, including faculty meetings, college ceremonies, and service on academic committees. </li><li>Participate in College, Departmental, and Divisional assessment activities. </li><li>Act as an ambassador for Cape Cod Community College and the Aviation Maintenance Technology Program at Plymouth Municipal Airport. </li><li>Maintain professional certifications and pursue advanced academic credentialing. </li><li>Update, and revise courses to meet high student learning outcomes that meet, FAA, and NECHE accreditation standards. </li><li>Create and utilize innovative and creative instructional materials for aviation coursework. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in aviation or a closely related field from an accredited institution or equivalent qualifications as determined by the appointing authority. </li><li>Airframe & Powerplant Certification. </li><li>Three years of relevant work experience in an aviation capacity. </li><li>Demonstrated presentation skills in the classroom including integration of computer-based aviation software program(s). </li><li>Commitment to the mission of Cape Cod Community College and the (AMT) Aviation Training Center in Plymouth, MA. </li><li>Strong pedagogy and an ability to relate to the current needs of students. </li><li>Exceptional communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to be collaborative with colleagues and be a part of a dynamic faculty and staff. </li><li>Potential to make significant contributions to curriculum development in a collegiate model. </li><li>Ability to meet the challenges of a rigorous curriculum and support a diverse student body. </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree. </li><li>Advanced FAA certifications: IA, ATP, CFII, Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot License, Dispatch Cert. </li><li>Experience with innovative instructional strategies that support student success. </li></ul> <p>Equivalency Statement</p> <p>Applicants who do not meet the qualifications as noted above are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience has prepared them with the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required for the responsibilities of this position.</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>COMPENSATION: Full-time, MCCC Unit Position with average salary range of $52,880 - $62,960 (for 9-month academic year); actual salary will be commensurate with education, qualifications, and experience and consistent with the MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
