<p>Job Description</p> <p>Vanderbilt Center for Computational Systems Biology (CCSB) is a transinsitutionial center between Vanderbilt University Basic Sciences, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and the Vanderbilt College of Connected Computing that aims to leverage team science and computational biology to turn biomolecular data into actionable insights.</p> <p>Philosophy</p> <p>The CCSB seeks to reinvent the concept of "team science" by creating a truly collaborative environment for computational scientists, cell biologists, and tissue engineers to work together seamlessly. Our goal is to instill quantitative and interdisciplinary thinking into the next generation of young scientists, where computational concepts are interwoven into biomedical research.</p> <p>Mission statement</p> <p>At CCSB, we aim to understand complex biological systems, defined as systems of simultaneously changing and interacting parts, with the ability to reverse-engineer these systems synthetically. We seek to investigate how system-level states become disrupted in disease, to identify causative factors that disrupt or alter disease-relevant behaviors.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist in evaluating and writing the biostatistics of grants from various CCSB members. </li><li>Consult on statistical approaches and techniques when needed in studies. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Relationship</p> <p>This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Masters in science in the field of Biostatistics. </li><li>1 year of experience preferred in biostatics. </li><li>Strong foundation in biostatistics, specifically applied to molecular/cellular studies. </li><li>Experience in grant writing. </li></ul>
