<p>Under supervision this position will work closely with Senior Researchers assisting in the design and implementation of research studies.</p> <p>Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities</p> <ul> <li>Handles administrative support duties for the grant (e.g., scheduling of internal meetings; staff meeting agenda preparation) </li><li>Supervises student workers on research tasks and supports the research of senior researchers. </li><li>Conducts basic data analysis with supervision from senior researchers. Maintain accurate records of research activities and data. </li><li>With support from senior researchers, manage large volumes of quantitative data (including quality control), develops and maintains electronic codebooks of all databases. </li><li>Transcribe audio and video data to translate into quantitative metrics. </li><li>Assist senior researchers with creating sophisticated PowerPoint presentations, </li><li>Synthesize literature and assist with development of instruments/measures </li><li>Collaborate with team members to support ongoing research initiatives. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned or requested. </li></ul> <p>Loyola Marymount University Expectations</p> <p>Exhibit behavior that supports the mission, vision, and values of the university. Demonstrate a commitment to outstanding customer service.</p> <p>Requisite Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Typically a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Sociology or Political Science or related field or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of methods used in the lab as well as regulation/policy changes.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.</p> </li><li> <p>Previous psychological or educational research work experience in an academic research setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Previous research experience and some experience with quantitative skills, including knowledge of statistics;</p> </li><li> <p>Strong organizational skills and a track record of working collaboratively with others in professional or extracurricular settings</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to be highly organized to facilitate record-keeping, data management, managing multiple responsibilities and collaboration with student research assistants. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.</p> </li><li> <p>High intrinsic motivation and excellent self-management. Ability to take responsibility in meeting deadlines and making progress without direct supervision.</p> </li><li> <p>Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral).</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated computer competency and preferably knowledgeable of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Qualtrics and SPSS.</p> </li></ul> <p>The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
