<p>Duties</p> <p>Smithton CCSD #130 is now hiring a Social Worker or a School Counselor for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a three year grant funded position with potential for continuation.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>SOCIAL WORKER:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in Social Work. </li><li>Illinois Professional Educators License with appropriate endorsement. </li><li>Demonstrated competence in all areas of focus. </li><li>Social work case reporting and writing skills. </li><li>Ability to counsel students, parents, and staff, individually and in groups. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written expression using proper grammar and vocabulary. </li><li>Exemplary work habits verified by previous employers. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills. </li><li>Knowledge and skills of the IEP process. </li><li>Knowledge and skills working with At-Risk students. </li></ul> <p>SCHOOL COUNSELOR:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in School Counseling. </li><li>Illinois Professional Educators License with appropriate endorsement. </li><li>Demonstrated competence in all areas of focus. </li><li>Ability to present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to students, parents, and district staff </li><li>Excellent verbal and written expression using proper grammar and vocabulary. </li><li>Exemplary work habits verified by previous employers. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills. </li><li>Knowledge and skills working with At-Risk students. </li></ul> <p>Salary/Benefits</p> <p>Salary and work year established by Collective Bargaining Agreement.
