Based in Maryland, this role is well suited for an engineer who wants to apply deep technical expertise, influence solution direction, and play a meaningful role in a business that is expanding in an important market..</p> <p>Your tasks</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the senior technical lead for major North American air traffic control and critical infrastructure programs, including FAA and other government customers. </li><li>Lead the development of technical solutions for complex communications systems, from customer engagement through architecture, integration, deployment, and acceptance. </li><li>Drive system architecture, requirements decomposition, interface definition, and technical decisions across engineering teams. </li><li>Guide R&D and product teams on customer needs, market direction, and technology roadmap priorities in the ATC/ATM domain. </li><li>Provide technical leadership to systems, integration, and test teams delivering mission-critical communications systems. </li><li>Act as a subject matter expert on North American ATC requirements, standards, and deployment considerations. </li><li>Lead technical exchange meetings with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders as a senior technical representative for R&S. </li><li>Support proposals, technical documentation, contract deliverables, and compliance materials. </li><li>Support demonstrations, technical presentations, training, and selected industry events. </li></ul> <p>Exciting insights into Rohde & Schwarz</p> <p>Our colleagues provide insider information about:</p> <ul> <li>Daily adventures and challenges </li><li>Our passionate team </li><li>The technologies behind the innovative projects and solutions </li></ul> <p>Your browser does not support the video tag</p> <p>Your qualifications</p> <ul> <li>B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field. </li><li>10+ years of experience deploying communications, telecom, or networking systems for government or critical infrastructure customers. </li><li>Strong experience with IP-based voice communications systems, including SIP, RTP, and SNMP, ideally in ATC/ATM or other mission-critical environments. </li><li>Working knowledge of Linux-based environments, networking, and cybersecurity principles. </li><li>Experience in system architecture, requirements development, and technical leadership across cross-functional teams. </li><li>Understanding of ATC standards and best practices, such as ED-137. </li><li>Ability to lead with credibility, influence decisions, and align teams around complex solutions. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Proactive, organized, analytical, and self-directed. </li><li>Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. </li><li>Ability to travel up to 30% domestically, with occasional international travel. </li><li>To be considered, candidates must be U.S. Persons able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance. </li></ul> <p>Interested?</p> <p>We are looking forward to receiving your application!</p> <p>The total compensation for this position is $178K-$238K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level.
