<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Come join our team at the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR) where you will experience work-life balance, great benefits, and an exciting career that supports the Agency's mission to make South Carolina a safe place to work and live.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>You will conduct routine and complex investigations of reported violations of the South Carolina Statute of Wage Payments and Child Labor Laws. </li><li>You will serve records requests, issue subpoenas, interview witnesses, gather documentation and interview witnesses, prepare case summary reports, and maintain files and documentation in applicable databases and systems. </li><li>You will recommend written warnings and recommend action for the issuance of citations to employers for violations. </li><li>You will provide technical and educational assistance to employers on applicable wage and child labor laws and regulations. </li><li>You will conduct field investigations for the Office of Immigration Compliance, including audit follow-ups. </li><li>You will complete other duties such as serving as a witness at administrative hearings, attend trainings, and additional work and projects on behalf of the Division and Office. </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>A high school diploma and experience conducting investigations or performing other law enforcement duties. (A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience.) </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with general Human Resources and office management functions including basic payroll, bookkeeping, auditing, and/or general accounting principles. </li><li>Considerable knowledge of investigative techniques, principles and practices. </li><li>Considerable knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations </li><li>Considerable knowledge of acceptable legal principles and practices. </li><li>Ability to establish good relationships with officials, the public, and co-workers. </li><li>Proficient computer and word processing skills. </li><li>Strong writing skills, including grammar. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communications skills. </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must have a valid driver's license and 10-year MVR that complies with State and Agency Fleet guidelines. </li><li>Must be able to drive a state or personal vehicle to complete assigned job duties. </li><li>Frequent in-state and daily travel. </li><li>Occasional overnight state travel. </li><li>May require extended periods of driving, sitting, and visiting facilities that are non-ADA compliant. </li><li>May need to bend, stoop, kneel and lift up to 50 lbs. </li><li>Occasional work outside of normal Agency business hours. </li></ul> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Benefits Offered</p> <p>The South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation offers an exceptional benefits package for FTE positions that includes:</p> <ul> <li>Health, dental, vision, long term disability, and life insurance for employee, spouse, and children </li><li>15 days annual (vacation) leave per year </li><li>15 days sick leave per year </li><li>13 paid holidays </li><li>Paid Parental Leave </li><li>State Retirement Plan and Deferred Compensation Programs </li></ul>
