<p>Job Title: Firmware Engineer</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>We are seeking a skilled Firmware Engineer to join our dynamic team at our state-of-the-art facility in Loveland, CO. This role involves designing and developing embedded firmware solutions for water quality products, collaborating closely with a passionate team to drive innovation in the industry.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Design and develop embedded firmware solutions for new and existing water quality products. </li><li>Collaborate in an Agile team environment, participating in daily scrums and weekly development discussions. </li><li>Analyze requirements, estimate effort, and deliver impactful, reliable solutions. </li><li>Work closely with hardware, troubleshooting and debugging using tools such as oscilloscopes and digital multimeter. </li><li>Contribute to the growth of the firmware team and the development of new product architectures. </li><li>Engage in hands-on coding, building, deploying, and debugging activities. </li><li>Participate in technical interviews and hands-on exercises to assess and mentor engineering talent. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Develop and maintain embedded software using C++ (and sometimes C) for microcontrollers and platforms (Linux, RTOS, and bare metal). </li><li>Modify and extend existing code bases to meet new requirements. </li><li>Implement and maintain CI/CD practices and unit testing. </li><li>Produce technical design documentation and contribute to system architecture discussions. </li><li>Ensure code quality and reliability through rigorous debugging and testing. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. </li><li>3-5+ years of experience in C++ user-space development and C (or embedded C) programming. </li><li>3-5+ years of experience with 32-bit microcontrollers and embedded platforms (Linux, RTOS, and bare metal). </li><li>Strong understanding of computer architecture, memory technologies, and build processes. </li><li>Proficiency in Agile methodologies. </li><li>Experience with device driver and kernel programming. </li><li>Ability to read hardware schematics and code to low-level hardware interfaces. </li><li>Familiarity with protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, MODBUS, USB, and Ethernet. </li><li>Strong debugging skills in both software and hardware environments. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Embedded Systems Engineering. </li><li>Experience developing in a Linux desktop environment with IDE and CLI. </li><li>Experience with Embedded Linux build systems (e.g., Yocto). </li><li>Proficiency with scripting languages (Shell, Bash). </li><li>Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP). </li><li>Experience in the water quality industry is a plus. </li><li>Ability to produce technical design documentation. </li><li>Experience working in a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative environment. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This is an onsite position at our Loveland, CO campus, requiring a minimum of four days onsite per week, with Friday as a flexible day. Our large campus is designed for innovation and collaboration, featuring state-of-the-art research and development facilities. You will be part of a global network focused on innovation, collaboration, and professional growth. Daily activities include engaging in development, troubleshooting, and collaborating with a team in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
