<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Location: Housatonic Valley Regional High School Date of Availability: 08/18/2026 Date Closing: When filled</p> <p>We are seeking a passionate, dedicated Spanish Teacher who inspires students to reach their full potential. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in the Spanish language and culture, use effective, research-backed teaching strategies, and create a welcoming, inclusive classroom where every student feels supported. This teacher will guide students in developing their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills while fostering cultural understanding, differentiating instruction for diverse learners, and collaborating with colleagues to build a positive school community.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities: Planning & Instruction:</p> <ul> <li>Design and implement engaging, standards-based lessons aligned with curriculum goals. </li><li>Use data to inform instruction and adjust teaching strategies responsively. </li><li>Incorporate culturally responsive teaching practices and varied perspectives into daily instruction. </li><li>Integrate technology and blended learning strategies to enhance student engagement and access. </li></ul> <p>Classroom Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Foster a welcoming, inclusive classroom that supports student voice, ownership of learning, and mutual respect. </li><li>Promote social-emotional learning by modeling empathy, encouraging self-regulation, and reinforcing classroom expectations. </li><li>Maintain a safe, organized, and student-centered learning environment. </li></ul> <p>Assessment & Feedback:</p> <ul> <li>Use formative and summative assessments to measure student progress and adjust instruction. </li><li>Provide timely, specific, and actionable feedback to support student growth. </li></ul> <p>Professional Collaboration & Communication:</p> <ul> <li>Partner with colleagues, families, and support staff to promote student success and well-being. </li><li>Participate actively in team meetings, professional development, and curriculum work. </li><li>Communicate clearly and regularly with students and families about progress, expectations, and classroom activities. </li></ul> <p>Professionalism:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate ethical behavior, confidentiality, and a commitment to continuous professional growth. </li><li>Serve as a role model for students through professionalism, positive relationships, and cultural humility. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications: Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
