<p>Midwest Refuah Health Center is seeking a Radiologic Technologist / Medical Assistant to support both diagnostic imaging services and primary care operations. This hybrid role combines radiology responsibilities with direct patient care and clinical support duties. As a growing community health center, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while advancing your career in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.</p> <p>Radiology Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Prepare patients for radiologic examinations and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort and understanding. </li><li>Perform diagnostic x-rays in accordance with physician orders and established radiologic standards. </li><li>Position patients appropriately and operate radiologic equipment safely and accurately. </li><li>Utilize radiation safety practices and protective equipment to ensure the safety of patients and staff. </li><li>Review images for quality and completeness prior to provider interpretation. </li><li>Maintain radiology equipment and report equipment concerns or malfunctions promptly. </li><li>Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and organizational radiology regulations and standards. </li><li>Document radiology services accurately within the electronic medical record. </li></ul> <p>Medical Assistant Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Escort patients to examination rooms and obtain vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, height, and weight. </li><li>Record patient histories and update medical information in the electronic medical record. </li><li>Assist providers during examinations and procedures. </li><li>Administer injections and perform point-of-care testing as directed by providers and within scope of practice. </li><li>Collect, label, and process laboratory specimens. </li><li>Assist with prescription refill requests and patient follow-up communications. </li><li>Prepare and clean examination rooms between patient visits. </li><li>Maintain adequate inventory of clinical and radiology supplies. </li><li>Participate in daily huddles and support efficient patient flow. </li><li>Cross-train with front desk and clinical staff to support clinic operations during high-volume periods. </li><li>Assist with patient scheduling, referrals, and coordination of care as needed. </li><li>Train and mentor new clinical staff on radiology workflows and clinic procedures. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of radiologic procedures, safety standards, and infection control practices. </li><li>Ability to perform diagnostic imaging while maintaining excellent patient care. </li><li>Strong communication and customer service skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple responsibilities. </li><li>Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. </li><li>Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer systems. </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. </li><li>Commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and patient-centered care. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Current Illinois Radiologic Technologist License required. </li><li>ARRT certification preferred. </li><li>High school diploma or GED required. </li><li>Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required. </li><li>Minimum of two years of radiology experience in an outpatient, urgent care, primary care, orthopedic, or similar clinical setting. </li><li>Experience with electronic medical records required. </li><li>Experience in community health, family medicine, urgent care, or federally qualified health centers preferred. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting. </li><li>Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance when necessary. </li><li>Ability to assist patients with positioning during radiologic procedures. </li><li>Frequent use of computers, phones, and office equipment. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <ul> <li>Exposure to radiation minimized through use of personal protective equipment and radiation monitoring devices. </li><li>Potential exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and other conditions common to a healthcare environment. </li><li>Frequent interaction with patients, providers, staff, insurance representatives, and community partners. </li></ul> <p>Midwest Refuah Health Center is an equal opportunity employer.
