<p>Gifted and Talented Teacher</p> <p>About Us:</p> <p>Global Village Academy is an innovative charter school. Students learn core content through language immersion in their choice of French, Spanish or Mandarin Chinese. GVA is truly a "global village." Our immersion teachers come from all over the world, each bringing their unique culture and language into the classroom. United by a common core, students are challenged to become world class thinkers, capable of engaging ideas using multiple languages and cross-cultural perspectives, through an internationally benchmarked curriculum spanning each language village.</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>As a Gifted and Talented Teacher at Global Village Academy, you will design and implement differentiated instructional programs to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of gifted and high-potential students. You will collaborate with colleagues, families, and administrators to foster an engaging learning environment that challenges students to think critically, solve problems creatively, and reach their full potential..</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>Instruction and Curriculum Development</p> <ul> <li>Plan, deliver, and assess rigorous, differentiated instruction aligned with the needs of gifted learners. </li><li>Develop and implement curriculum and lesson plans that promote critical thinking, creativity, and intellectual risk-taking. </li><li>Use a variety of instructional strategies and resources to support diverse learning styles and abilities. </li><li>Integrate formal and informal assessments to guide instructional planning and monitor student growth. </li><li>Foster student engagement through meaningful, hands-on, and inquiry-based learning experiences. </li></ul> <p>Student Support and Classroom Management</p> <ul> <li>Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that supports the social-emotional development of gifted learners. </li><li>Teach and reinforce problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. </li><li>Monitor and support student behavior in accordance with school policies and expectations. </li><li>Provide timely, constructive feedback to students to support continued growth and achievement. </li></ul> <p>Collaboration and Communication</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and school leadership to coordinate services and support for gifted students. </li><li>Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, goals, and support strategies. </li><li>Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding best practices in gifted education. </li><li>Attend and participate in school-based meetings, professional development, and required training. </li></ul> <p>Professional Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to ongoing personal and professional growth. </li><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including attendance, assessment data, behavioral documentation, and family communication. </li><li>Uphold student and family confidentiality at all times. </li><li>Participate in school events, including occasional evening activities. </li><li>Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the administration. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. </li><li>Valid Colorado Department of Education teaching license preferred. </li><li>Endorsement in Gifted Education or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe. </li><li>Successful completion of PLACE or PRAXIS exam preferred. </li><li>Experience working with gifted and high-achieving students is strongly preferred. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <ul> <li>School-based setting with regular interaction with students, staff, and families. </li><li>Occasional evening meetings and events may be required. </li></ul> <p>Please note this description is not intended, and should not be construed, to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, efforts, or working conditions associated with this job.
