If you're a hard-working, detail-oriented team player who thrives in dynamic, outdoor environments, we want you on our crew.</p> <p>We're seeking an enthusiastic Events Coordinator to plan, organize, and execute on-mountain and resort-wide events, including races (FIS, Far West, etc), on-mountain family events, Freeski and Snowboard comps, après ski music, freeride competitions, and more. Collaborating closely with the Race & Events Manager, other resort departments, vendors, sponsors, talent, and volunteers, you'll help bring our resort's vision and culture to life, ensuring athletes, guests, coaches, parents - all stakeholders - have an unforgettable experience.</p> <p>Why Sugar Bowl?</p> <p>Sugar Bowl Resort has been proudly independent for over 80 years and is one of the oldest ski resorts in California. Situated atop beautiful Donner Summit, Sugar Bowl has a storied past with ties to Austrian ski culture, Hollywood and Walt Disney. This special community helped bring skiing to "sunny California" since December 1939. Since then, it continues to attract adventurous winter sports enthusiasts a like.</p> <p>Who you are</p> <ul> <li>2+ years of event coordination experience, ideally in a resort or outdoor/adventure setting </li><li>Strong project management, organizational, and budgeting skills </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Creative mindset with keen attention to detail </li><li>Comfortable working in all weather conditions; outdoor work required </li><li>Ability to lift and move equipment on skis(~40?lbs) </li><li>Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays </li><li>Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office & Teams </li><li>Experience with volunteer supervision </li><li>Passion for skiing, snowboarding </li><li>Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for on-site logistics </li><li>US Ski & Snowboard Officials certification helpful (but not required) </li></ul> <p>What you will do</p> <ul> <li> <p>Event Planning & Coordination</p> </li><li> <p>Develop concepts and logistics for on-hill events, music programming, off-hill events, and community activations</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the development of pre-season event calendar</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in crew scheduling including use of other resort departments</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate pre-event setup, on-site execution, and post-event teardown</p> </li><li> <p>Vendor, Sponsor & Talent Management</p> </li><li> <p>Source, book, and liaison with vendors, musicians, and suppliers</p> </li><li> <p>Support sponsor fulfillment and maintain strong stakeholder relationships</p> </li><li> <p>Crew & Volunteer Leadership</p> </li><li> <p>Work with Volunteer Lead to recruit, train, and oversee race day volunteers during race events</p> </li><li> <p>Develop Race Crew schedule based on event/race needs</p> </li><li> <p>Marketing & Promotion</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events via social media</p> </li><li> <p>Administration & Reporting</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in management of event budgets, P&L reports, invoicing, and record-keeping</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct post-event evaluations and provide improvement recommendations</p> </li><li> <p>On-the-Hill Execution</p> </li><li> <p>Be well versed in race day protocols, execution and act as on-hill lead when needed</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate effectively with all departments and stakeholders prior to and during event</p> </li><li> <p>Act as MC or point-of-contact at events when needed</p> </li></ul> <p>Winter Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Employer sponsored 401k plan after 1000hrs (and 1-yr) </li><li>Paid sick time </li><li>Excellent professional and training development </li><li>Free ski and tubing passes for employees </li><li>Free ski passes for dependents </li><li>50% off food at our cafeterias </li><li>Free group ski and snowboard lessons for employees </li><li>Employee discounted lift tickets for family and friends </li><li>Lift ticket discounts at tons of resorts including 24 destinations thanks to the Mountain Collective </li><li>Hotel discounts </li><li>Employee ski reciprocal programs </li></ul> <p>Sugar Bowl Resort believes that all persons are entitled to equal employment opportunity and does not discriminate against its employees or applicants because of race, color, hair, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender orientation, gender expression, pregnancy, marital status, national origin, citizenship, veteran status, ancestry, age, physical or mental disability, medical condition, or any other status protected by federal, state or local law, ordinance or regulation.
