<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Support Staff/Food Service Worker</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>5/21/2026</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Carlisle Community School District</p> <p>&nbsp&nbspAdditional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>CARLISLE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>JOB TITLE Food Service, Worker</p> <p>REPORTS TO Kitchen Manager</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent </li><li>Aptitude for successful performance of tasks listed </li><li>Flexibility to implement change </li><li>Able to communicate effectively with students, staff, and community </li><li>Must clear criminal and adult and child abuse background check </li><li>Provide a certificate of good health signed by a licensed practitioner </li></ul> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Assist in the preparation and serving of food in an efficient, safe and pleasant manner </li><li>Assume responsibility for ensuring that during meal service periods the supply of foods offered is replenished regularly </li><li>Assist in the daily clean-up of kitchen and service areas </li><li>Perform major cleaning tasks as scheduled </li><li>Follow safe food handling techniques </li><li>Adhere to dress code established by the Food Director </li><li>Practice all standard practices of sanitation, safety, and day-to-day operating procedures </li><li>Attends and completes trainings as required </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Food Service Director </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS/MENTAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS</p> <ul> <li>Present appropriate appearance and personal cleanliness suited to working in close proximity to food service customers </li><li>Able to work with interruptions during work shift </li><li>Able of working with coworkers with different personalities </li><li>Able to operate basic commercial kitchen equipment </li><li>Able to use hand tools and material-handling carts </li><li>Able to use cleaning and sanitizing chemicals </li><li>Able to lift up to 35 pounds </li><li>Noise level may be quiet to loud </li><li>Substance free environment </li><li>Work may be alone or with team members </li><li>Work environment may include exposure to heat, cold, water, chemicals, steam and grease </li><li>Immediate cleaning up of spills, etc </li></ul> <p>Evaluation:</p> <ul> <li>Performance of this job will be based on the extent to which performance responsibilities of the job are successfully handled </li><li>Evaluation is the responsibility of the immediate supervisor and Food Service Director </li></ul> <p>Disclaimer:</p> <p>The statements in this job description are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this job.
