<p>Title I Small Group Instructor position at Woodridge Elementary School. This position is Long Term Sub position part-time (5.8 hrs.) for the 2025-2026 school year. Current/valid teaching license required. Reading Endorsement Preferred. No benefits.</p> <p>Position: Title I Small Group Instructor (Long Term Sub)</p> <p>Reports to: Building Principal</p> <p>Employment Status: Part-time (5.8) Hrs.</p> <p>Description: Plan, develop, schedule and implement the remedial reading (and sometimes remedial math) educational program for students identified with such needs; evaluate and revise the programs as appropriate; actively involved in student, colleague and parent communications and relations</p> <p>NOTE: The below lists are not ranked in order of importance</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Promote safety of students </li><li>Teach and evaluate the students using sound instructional practices </li><li>Effectively manage the classroom and individual student behavior to maintain a good learning environment </li><li>Maintain accurate records as required </li><li>Take necessary precautions to protect equipment, materials, and facilities </li><li>Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and present clear, complete and accurate explanations utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and media </li><li>Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., student grades </li><li>Attend meetings and in-services per contract </li><li>Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with parents and staff </li><li>Instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated </li><li>Refer students with suspected disabilities according to building/district protocol </li><li>Follow the scope and sequence of the instructional program as defined in the courses of study which have been approved by the Board of Education </li><li>Assist in identifying students who qualify for services </li><li>Provide appropriate intervention for qualifying students </li><li>Communicate and work closely with the regular classroom teachers while developing each student's intervention program </li><li>Work with students individually, in small groups, and/or in co-taught classrooms </li><li>Assist students with their tasks; read to students; conduct activities that work to maintain previous teaching </li><li>Assist students with programmed materials </li><li>Promote good social relationships between students </li><li>Assist in the administration of standardized assessments (for example, DIBELS) </li></ul> <p>Other Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Participate in intervention assistance team meetings </li><li>Respond to routine questions and requests in a timely, appropriate manner </li><li>Interact with other departments and school personnel when necessary </li><li>Refer attendance, health, academic and psychological emotional concerns or problems to Principal and/or Guidance Counselor </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or designee as appropriate to the job title </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university </li><li>Appropriate State of Ohio teaching certifications/license </li><li>Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate </li></ul> <p>Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of academic area and teaching methodology </li><li>Ability to work effectively with others </li><li>Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing </li><li>Effective, active listening skills </li><li>Organizational and problem solving skills </li><li>General computer skills </li></ul> <p>Additional Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue </li><li>Occasional interaction with unruly students </li></ul>
