<ul> <li>Process payments for prescriptions and over the counter items. </li><li>Operate the cash register to process payments for prescriptions and over-the-counter items using cash, credit card, check, and/or payroll deduction. </li><li>Handle confidential patient information with discretion, following HIPAA guidelines. </li><li>Handles change requests and bank deposits for the courier as needed. </li><li>Hangs medication bags alphabetically in the waiting bin after Pharmacist verification. </li><li>Provide friendly and efficient customer service including greeting patients when they arrive to pick up medication and directing them to appropriate staff when necessary. </li><li>Delivers medications to patients' bedside and curbside as requested. </li><li>Discusses Meds to Go with patients at the bedside before discharge. </li><li>Maintain cleanliness and organization of the register, over-the-counter areas and waiting bin. </li><li>Assist with inventory management of over-the-counter items by conducting periodic stock checks and notifying appropriate staff of low stock levels. </li><li>Re-stock and order over-the-counter shelves as needed. </li><li>Re-stock and order pharmacy supplies as needed. </li><li>Screens telephone calls and answers inquiries within scope of practice. </li><li>Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and policies related to financial transactions. </li><li>Collaborate with Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists to ensure accurate and timely processing of prescriptions by prioritizing prescriptions to be completed. </li><li>Refers unresolved issues or issues outside scope of responsibility to the Pharmacy Manager as appropriate. </li><li>Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers. </li><li>Performs other work-related duties as assigned or requested. </li><li>Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. </li><li>High school diploma or GED. </li><li>Customer service and/or cashier experience preferred. </li><li>Valid U.S. Driver's License upon hire. </li><li>Duties require very good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently. </li><li>Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Ability to triage work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency. </li></ul>
