The Response Manager leads a team for the disaster relief response in the areas most affected. When not deployed, this position helps maintain a ready-to-deploy status and implements plans designed to further the ministry of the Samaritan's Purse Disaster Relief Program at our ministry site in North Wilkesboro, NC. Your ability to communicate quickly, efficiently and effectively lie at the heart of this role. Come join the team and win souls to Christ.</p> <p>A day in the life of a Response Manager, US Disaster Relief:</p> <p>At Samaritan's Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do! We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe.</p> <p>In the role of Response Manager, you will have the opportunity to:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him. </li><li>Lead and oversee all aspects of the deployment. Set up program; work with church partners and interact with local emergency management officials; supervise deployed staff and key volunteers; organize, train and direct general volunteers; and ensure safety and training procedures are implemented and followed. </li><li>Serve as Incident Commander in the Incident Command System model emergency response during active deployments; assist in filling key roles such as Assistant Response Manager, Volunteer Coordinator or Office Manager based on the response dynamic. </li><li>Maintain accurate listings and placement of all assigned disaster relief field inventory; oversee financial transactions, prepare and submit daily/monthly report of activities; hold and attend regular weekly staff meetings. </li><li>Establish communication and foster relationships with churches, government agencies, and other relief organizations. </li><li>Work with the Program Management team to maintain awareness of natural disaster activity across the United States and to monitor weather opportunities. </li><li>Represent the ministry at conferences and speaking engagements. </li><li>Provide technical insight and content development for response-related procedures. </li><li>Follow policies and procedures of Samaritan's Purse as set forth in the Policy Manual. </li><li>Attend daily morning devotions and participate in prayer support for the ministry, donors and volunteers. </li><li>Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public. </li><li>Other duties may be assigned that are not specifically identified within the content of the job description. </li></ul> <p>Learn more about</p>
