Provide guidance and support in understanding financial obligations, insurance coverage, and available assistance programs.</p> <p>Does this position require Patient Care? No</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Meet with patients or their representatives to explain the financial aspects of their healthcare services, including insurance coverage, copayments, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses. </li><li>Provide clear and accurate information about available financial assistance programs, eligibility criteria, and application processes. </li><li>Assist patients in understanding and completing financial aid applications, ensuring all required documentation is collected and submitted. </li><li>Verify patients' insurance coverage, including eligibility, benefits, and pre-authorization requirements. </li><li>Collaborate with insurance companies and healthcare providers to obtain necessary authorizations for procedures, treatments, or services. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <p>High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Bachelor's Degree Health Administration preferred</p> <p>Licenses and Credentials</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>Experience in a healthcare financial services or patient advocacy role. 1-2 years preferred</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of healthcare billing and reimbursement processes, insurance plans, and financial assistance programs. </li><li>Familiarity with government programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security is beneficial. </li><li>Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts in a clear and empathetic manner. </li><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for managing documentation and application processes. </li><li>Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion. </li><li>Proficiency in using relevant computer software and applications for data entry, documentation, and communication. </li></ul> <p>Additional Job Details (if applicable)</p> <p>Remote Type</p> <p>Onsite</p> <p>Work Location</p> <p>90 Blossom Street</p> <p>Scheduled Weekly Hours</p> <p>40</p> <p>Employee Type</p> <p>Regular</p> <p>Work Shift</p> <p>Day (United States of America)</p> <p>EEO Statement:</p> <p>The General Hospital Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
