<p>DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF WORK</p> <p>RATE OF PAY: $12.50 - $13.00 per hour ($14.75 per hour if Lifeguard certified)</p> <p>MINIMUM AGE: 16 years</p> <p>HOURS/PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: Seasonal position - Starting in late May and ending in September. Employee may work 5-6 days per week (up to 40-50 hours per week) Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be able to work flexible hours. Other than scheduled days off, requests are only granted if a qualified worker can substitute for the employee. It is the employee's responsibility to secure a substitute. Do not plan on taking an extended vacation.</p> <p>GENERAL DESCRIPTION:</p> <p>This is a cashier for a municipal swimming pool complex. The employee collects entrance fees and sells pool entrance tags. Also, inspects IDs and pool entrance tags, prepares reports, and may perform other clerical duties as assigned.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Follows all employee and pool rules and regulations. </li><li>Operates the reception duties of each pool, including but not limited to: using the cash register, collecting admission fees, selling pool tags, answering the phone, and greeting the public. </li><li>Collects and counts all admissions, keeps accurate totals of monies collected and is accountable for such. </li><li>Promotes positive relations with the public, becomes knowledgeable of all programs so that questions by the public can be answered. </li><li>Knows and enforces all pool rules and policies. </li><li>Assists with program registration. </li><li>Attends all training/in-services and staff meetings. </li><li>Maintains an orderly and neat reception area, assists with grounds maintenances and cleanliness of pool/park/bathhouses areas and assists with end of day facility cleanup. </li><li>Checks IDs and pool tags and may be required to assist in lifeguard rotation. </li><li>Must clean facility and/or park as assigned. </li><li>Demonstrates predictable and regular attendance. </li></ul> <p>PLEASE NOTE: Employee may be reassigned to a different location without prior notice.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Skill in accurately counting and recording cash transactions with speed. </li><li>Current Lifeguard Training and CPR for the Professional Rescuer certifications preferred. </li><li>Ability to keep simple records and prepare complete reports in a neat and timely manner. </li><li>Some knowledge of routine office practices and methods. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with others. </li><li>Ability to tactfully enforce rules and regulations. </li><li>Applicants with Lifeguard training will be considered first. </li></ul> <p>EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING/LICENSING REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>PART AND WEIGHTS OF EXAMINATION:</p> <ul> <li>Written exam: 60% </li><li>Oral interview: 40% </li></ul> <p>NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Must submit to a criminal history check, drug screen, and pre-employment physical. </li><li>Must have reliable transportation to comply with regular and predictable attendance requirements. </li></ul>
