<p>Description</p> <p>Seamstress/Sewing Machine Operator</p> <p>We are looking for a detail-oriented, results driven industrial Seamstress to join the LAPCO Manufacturing, Inc. team. The main responsibility of this role is to demonstrate knowledge and proficiency with various fabrics and sewing machine techniques.</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>None </li></ul> <p>Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain production and quality standards set by management to sew and/or stitch products to specific criteria and specifications. </li><li>Ability to perform sewing functions using needles, scissors, and other items necessary. </li><li>Posses a sense of urgency to work in a time sensitive, fast-paced team environment. </li><li>Ability to prioritize, multitask, organize with good hand-eye coordination. </li><li>Ensuring that sewing machine and other equipment are in good working order. </li><li>Ability to pay attention to detail and maintain accuracy. </li><li>Ability to work well independently as well as a member of a team. </li><li>Ability to perform repetitive tasks. </li><li>Ensure work areas are always safe and secure. </li><li>Knowledge of basic math skills to measure garments before adding the tape, and/or creating hems. </li><li>Perform other duties and tasks as assigned to meet business needs. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Effective communication skills. </li><li>Strong work ethics. </li><li>The ability to work under time constraints. </li><li>Ability to follow direction. </li><li>Well organized, self-motivated, and a quick learner. </li><li>Good with math and working with numbers and measurements. </li><li>Proven ability to solve problems creatively. </li><li>Experience in a manufacturing environment. </li><li>Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and reach for long periods of time. </li><li>Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. </li><li>During peak seasons may require working weekends. </li><li>Must be physically able to function within all process steps of the sewing department. </li></ul> <p>Education/Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or GED (required). </li><li>One to three years of sewing experience. </li><li>Familiarity with different types of sewing machines and heat press. </li></ul>
