<p>Job Details</p> <p>Level: Experienced</p> <p>Job Location: Indianapolis (Starbucks) - Indianapolis, IN</p> <p>Position Type: Full-Time</p> <p>Salary Range: Undisclosed</p> <p>Job Category: Restaurant - Food Service</p> <p>Description</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Working at 30 South Meridian in downtown Indianapolis, this job contributes to the success of this Starbucks store by leading a team to create and maintain the best Starbucks Experience for anyone who visits our store. Our store hours Monday thru Friday is 7am to 4pm, Saturday and Sunday hours is 8am to 12pm, and closed on major holidays. The store manager is required to regularly and customarily exercise discretion in managing the overall operation of the store. A majority of time is spent supervising and directing store partners, making staffing decisions (i.e., hiring, training, evaluating, disciplining, discharging, staffing and scheduling), ensuring customer satisfaction and product quality, managing the store's financial performance, inventory, and managing safety and security within the store. The incumbent is responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Kite Realty Group as well as Starbucks mission and values.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <p>Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Manage store staff of 12-15. </li><li>Setting goals for store partners, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together. </li><li>Demonstrates a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events and manages smooth transitions thereafter to keep the store operating to standard and to set a positive example for store partners. </li><li>Displays a customer comes first attitude by training and holding partners accountable for delivering world-class customer service. </li><li>Drives the implementation of company programs by developing action plans and directly motivating and instructing the store team to implement them to meet operational and organizational objectives. </li><li>Manages with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Kite Realty Group and Starbucks. </li><li>Plans, identifies, communicates, and delegates appropriate responsibilities and practices to store partners to ensure smooth flow of operations. </li><li>Provides coaching and direction to store partners to take action and to achieve operational goals. </li><li>Constantly reviews store environment and key business indicators to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement to provide coaching and direction to the store team to achieve operational goals. </li></ul> <p>Planning and Execution</p> <ul> <li>Monitors and manages store staffing levels to ensure partner development and talent acquisition plans will achieve and maintain store operational requirements. </li><li>Utilizes existing tools to identify and prioritize communications and regularly uses discretion to filter communications to the store team. Communicates clearly, concisely and accurately to ensure effective store operations. </li><li>Business Requirements - Providing functional expertise and executing functional responsibilities. </li><li>Ensures adherence to applicable wage and hour laws for nonexempt partners and minors. </li><li>Solicits customer feedback and proactively researches local markets to understand customer and community needs. </li><li>Uses all operational tools to plan for and achieve operational excellence in the store. Tools include Staffing and Scheduling, Teaching and Training, Inventory, Cash Handling, Clean and Maintained Stores and Business Analysis. </li><li>Uses discretion in accessing retail support partners to support store operations and to execute Starbuck's store initiatives. Resources include Partner Resources, Marketing, Partner & Asset Protection, Food & Beverage, Coffee, and Retail Implementation departments. </li><li>Utilizes operational tools and resources and analyzes financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in store performance. </li></ul> <p>Partner Development & Team Building</p> <ul> <li>Actively manages store partners by regularly conducting performance assessments, providing feedback, and setting challenging goals to improve partner performance. Manages ongoing partner performance using performance management tools to support organizational objectives. </li><li>Challenges and inspires store partners to achieve business results. </li><li>Develops and maintains positive relationships with partners by creating an inclusive culture and understanding and acknowledging individual experiences, motivations, needs, and concerns. </li><li>Challenges and motivates partners to achieve business results. </li><li>Ensures store partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements. </li><li>Recognizes and reinforces individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational tools and programs and finding new, creative, and effective methods of recognition. </li><li>Utilizes and demonstrates effective leadership expectations outlined in the Store Manager Approach to create and maintain a successful store team resulting in an environment where partners are valued and respected. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Job Requirements</p> <ul> <li>High school or GED. </li><li>College degree in business or a closely related field may substitute for a portion of the required experience. </li><li>At least 3 -5 years' experience in customer service preferably in food service/restaurant environment. </li><li>Prior supervisor experience REQUIRED in food service/restaurant environment is preferred. </li><li>Prior Starbucks experience strongly preferred. </li><li>Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting financials. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work with inventory control. </li><li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals. </li><li>Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees or organization. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Up to 90% of the time. </li><li>Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. </li><li>Tasting/Smelling: Distinguishing, with a degree of accuracy, differences or similarities in intensity or quality of flavors and/or odors. </li><li>Vision: Clarity of vision at near and/or far distances. </li></ul>
