<p>Position Information</p> <p>Position Information (Default Section)</p> <p>EEO Statement</p> <p>Wright State University is an equal opportunity employer.</p> <p>Faculty Rank or Job Title Assistant Professor Job Category: Faculty/Instructional Department NeuroSci Cell Bio Physiology-BSOM EEO number: 25Y211 Position FTE</p> <p>100%</p> <p>Minimum Annual or Hourly Rate Negotiable Salary Band: NA FA Job Summary/Basic Function:</p> <p>The incumbent will fill critical teaching needs of the Boonshoft School of Medicine (BSOM) within the Departments of Neuroscience, Cell Biology, and Physiology (NCBP).</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree and appropriate credentials for appointment at the Assistant Professor level with excellent oral and written communication skills. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Postdoctoral research experience with demonstrated productivity through publications and funding commensurate with their rank. </li><li>Experience with medical student and/or other biomedical education, including course/curriculum design and assessment, use of innovative teaching and learning strategies. </li><li>Prior experience in medical student human gross anatomy/embryology curricular development. </li><li>Prior experience incorporating imaging techniques and images into training of human structure and functional relationships. </li><li>Recent scholarly activities such as peer-reviewed publications, development of education materials, extramural grant support. </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions and percent of time:</p> <p>The incumbent will also be expected to develop and maintain scholarly activity, typically expected to focus on medical education scholarly activity.</p> <p>50%-Lead and collaborate with other faculty members across departments in developing and delivering the BSOM Wright curriculum, including design and implementation of innovative teaching and learning strategies; instruct and create instructional and assessment materials, apply a scholarly approach to teaching and curriculum implementation.</p> <p>20%-Other departmental educational initiatives/activities related to graduate or undergraduate students.</p> <p>20%-Perform scholarly activity.</p> <p>10%-Participate in and/or serve in leadership roles on committees/task forces within the Department and medical school, i.e. admissions, curriculum, research.</p> <p>Essential Functions and percent of time (cont'd): Non-Essential Functions and percent of time: Working Conditions</p> <p>Standard office and laboratory conditions. Special contract terms and conditions of employment apply.</p> <p>Supervisory roles: Expected to supervise relevant laboratory personnel and teaching assistants.</p> <p>Fiscal responsibility.
