<p>Job Description</p> <p>Full-time faculty at Central Carolina Community College facilitate transformative lifelong learning by incorporating discipline-specific learning outcomes through active learning opportunities, lectures, hands-on skill development, assignments, and appropriate classroom management. Faculty provide authentic student assessment that allows students to improve their knowledge and skills with each assignment. Faculty focus on student success by establishing meaningful connections with students early in the semester to support the varying needs of each student throughout the semester.</p> <p>The purpose of the Masonry Instructor position (9 months) at Central Carolina Community College is to teach Career and Technical Education courses and supervise students' practical lab projects at Harnett Correctional Institution. This is accomplished through the administration of course objectives, outlines, competencies, descriptions, and teaching strategies within the specific curriculum to ensure they are appropriate and relevant. Additionally, the associated teaching and learning practices must comply with North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections regulations.</p> <p>After hire the following conditions apply:</p> <ul> <li>Must pass background check administered by the NC Department of Adult Correction (prior to hire) </li><li>Must work in close proximity to medium custody inmates (daily). </li><li>Must abide by all rules and practices administered by HCI custody staff (daily) </li><li>Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (daily) </li><li>Must complete prescribed NC Department of Adult Correction training (annually). </li></ul> <p>Salary depends on education and experience.</p> <p>Vocational Diploma, Certificate or Less: $43,120 - $51,183</p> <p>Associate Degree salary range: $43,720 - $51,183</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree salary range: $46,321 - $54,172</p> <p>Master's Degree salary range: $48,629 - $56,282</p> <p>Doctorate Degree salary range: $51,956 - $59,432</p> <ul> <li> <p>Please include unofficial copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts. Will be required to submit official copies of transcripts before the start date.</p> </li><li> <p>This position may have occasional travel between campuses and for training. Occasional after hours may be required.</p> </li><li> <p>This position requires face to face teaching.</p> </li></ul> <p>Essential Duties</p> <p>Teaching Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Embrace the institutional goals of Central Carolina Community College by engaging students as full partners in the learning process, removing barriers to student progression in courses, and supporting and assisting students in achieving their educational and career goals. </li><li>Use student learning outcomes to create a variety of activities, assignments, and assessments that ensure curriculum goals will be met. </li><li>Create a dynamic instructional environment that promotes a positive, interactive, and inclusive learning experience for all students. </li><li>Maintain a syllabus and gradebook for each class. </li><li>Grade all assignments in a timely manner and ensure that all grades are reported within the 10-day college grading policy. </li><li>Provide personalized and constructive feedback on student assignments by recognizing what students did well and identifying attainable improvements for future work. </li><li>Respond to all student communication within two business days. </li><li>Report attendance weekly. </li><li>Facilitate student learning for instructional loads of 18-28 contact hours per semester. </li><li>Faculty keep a weekly schedule of 35 hours on campus, including 5 required office hours. Hours on site may be adjusted based on distance education responsibilities and/or approved telework arrangements. </li><li>Assume other duties as assigned. </li><li>Actively support the college's vision of exceptional learning for all. </li></ul> <p>Institutional Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Participate in activities required to maintain program and/or college accreditation standards. </li><li>Serve on college committees as appointed. </li><li>Attend advisory board meetings as requested by your supervisor. </li><li>Attend graduation ceremonies. </li><li>Engage in a minimum of 5 hours of professional development each year. </li><li>Maintain current knowledge of your discipline and renew industry credentials, as needed. </li><li>Attend departmental, divisional, and collegewide meetings. </li><li>Cultivate a culture of care and advocacy through compassion, inclusion, opportunity, integrity, courage, and people. </li><li>Recognizing and respecting the variety of experiences and contributions represented by all of our students, employees, and community, all faculty will encourage a learning environment in which everyone is supported and valued for their unique perspectives and experiences and will foster and promote the participation of all members of our diverse communities. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Diploma in a construction related disciplined, such as building construction management, construction technology, or masonry technology; or Approved alternate portfolio with the background, experience, and credentials to justify qualifications as approved by the Dean and Chief Academic Officer. </li><li>Minimum three years of demonstrated experience in the masonry career/technical field. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Experience teaching at a secondary or postsecondary institution or correctional facility </li><li>Experience teaching in multiple modalities (seated, hybrid, online) </li><li>Industry training experience </li><li>Bilingual </li></ul>
