<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Under the general supervision of the Building/Grounds Superintendent and occasionally the Building/Grounds Supervisor, this position performs high-level Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) work at various DMA locations in Area 1, mainly in Beloit and Janesville. Area 1 includes the southwest part of the state. The position requires programming and installation knowledge of Network 8000, Metasys, Honeywell, Trane Automated Logic and Carrier DDC control systems. The position is also responsible for the inspection, repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment associated with heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration, humidity control and boiler operations and their related electrical systems, equipment, and various controls. This position will also perform some plumbing and electrical repairs.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>Starting pay is $32.21/ hr.</p> <p>This position is in the 03-15 pay schedule/range. A 12-month probation will be required.</p> <p>The schedule for this position will be four, 10-hour shifts per week, generally Tuesday through Friday 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.. The exact schedule will be determined with the candidate upon offer.</p> <p>For current permanent state employees, pay will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.</p> <p>To learn more about the complete compensation package, please visit the Total Rewards Calculator.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and meet the requirements of the State of Wisconsin Fleet Vehicle Policy to drive a state vehicle.</p> <p>State of Wisconsin Fleet Vehicle Policy:</p> <p>Must have a valid driver's license</p> <p>Minimum of two year's driving experience</p> <p>Must be 18 years of age or older</p> <p>Additionally, the driving record must not reflect the following conditions:</p> <p>Three or more moving violations (with point reductions) and/or at fault accidents in the past 2 years</p> <p>An OWI or DUI violation within the past 12 months</p> <p>A suspension or revocation of the driver's license</p> <p>Must possess or be able to possess or able to obtain within 12 months of hire, a valid EPA Section 608 Universal Technician Certification.</p> <p>Must be physically able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.</p> <p>Must be comfortable and able to work in high areas.</p> <p>The Department of Military Affairs does not sponsor work visas at the time of hire or anytime during employment. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required Employment Eligibility Form I-9.</p> <p>This is a State of Wisconsin Civil Service position. The DMA does not require current or previous military experience.</p> <p>All new permanent, project, and limited term employees will be required to report to Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) in Madison on the Monday of their first week of employment for the New Employee Orientation (NEO) program. Additional information will be sent to the new employees and their supervisors on the Tuesday prior to NEO.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Candidates who meet minimum qualifications will have the following:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with installing, diagnosing, and repairing commercial/industrial HVAC systems. </li><li>Must possess a valid driver's license and remain qualified as a condition of continued employment and meet the requirements of the State of Wisconsin Fleet Vehicle Policy. </li><li>Must be physically able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. </li><li>Possession of a valid Universal Technician certification for handling refrigerants from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency or ability to attain before the end of 12-month probationary period. </li><li>Must be able to operate lift equipment and have no limitations for working in high areas. </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>Click "Apply for Job" to start the application process.
