The?Security Officer?position helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for a client site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area. If you have retail, food service or hospitality industry background you are a great fit for this role; if not, we will provide you with the training and everything you need for a great introduction to a career in the security industry.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Access Control: Manage admittance to client sites, screen visitors, and assist employees and guests. </li><li>Customer Service: Provide courteous, respectful, and professional interactions that reflect positively on the client and security team. </li><li>Monitoring: Observe entrances, exits, and remote access points; prevent unauthorized entry; direct disturbances calmly and effectively. </li><li>Patrolling: Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for hazards, violations, or unsafe conditions. </li><li>Incident Response: Protect evidence, set up barriers, and respond to emergencies such as fire, medical incidents, hazardous materials, or severe weather. </li><li>Reporting: Maintain logs, write reports, and communicate incidents to client representatives, management, or public safety authorities. </li><li>Property Protection: Ensure property removal complies with client policies and standards. </li><li>Additional Duties: Perform other tasks of similar scope as required by the site. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>At least 18 years of age </li><li>High School Diploma or GED (or willingness to complete GED within six months) </li><li>Legal right to work in the United States </li><li>Reliable communication and transportation </li><li>Ability to speak, read, and write English </li><li>Successful completion of pre-employment screening (drug test, background check) </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience</p> <ul> <li>Prior security or related experience is a plus </li><li>Knowledge of security operations and procedures </li><li>Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to changing environments </li></ul> <p>Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Professional composure in challenging situations </li><li>Strong interpersonal and customer service skills </li><li>Clear communication (oral and written) </li><li>Good organizational skills and attention to detail </li><li>Ability to meet state, county, and municipal licensing requirements </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Frequent standing, walking, and occasional climbing or lifting (up to 25 lbs) </li><li>Exposure to inclement weather and varying environments </li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure </li><li>May be required to work overtime or respond to urgent situations </li><li>Use of protective gear and adherence to safety protocols as needed </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer Securitas Security Services is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
