<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Elementary School Teaching/Positive Behavior Support Specialist</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>3/30/2026</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Great Lakes Elementary School</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>August 2026</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>Open Until Filled</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Position: Elementary PBIS Specialist</p> <p>Posting Dates: March 30, 2026 Until Filled</p> <p>Reports To: Great Lakes Elementary School Principal</p> <p>Beginning: August 2026</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>MSW w/School Social Work Certificate or Counselor credential and/or </li><li>Teaching Certificate w/Special Ed Endorsement (EI preferred) and/or </li><li>Elementary Teaching Certification with Behavioral Support Experience and/or </li><li>School Psych/MA Psych. </li></ul> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <p>Tier 1:</p> <ul> <li>Facilitate Implementation of school-wide Tier 1 PBIS Matrix </li><li>Co-teach Tier 1 PBIS Bully Prevention Lessons Yg K-5th </li><li>Assist principal and facilitate PBIS Committee, data collection, and communication. </li><li>Work with PBIS Committee to increase weekly and monthly recognition for intended behavior. </li><li>Develop more consistent ways to recognize students who are caught doing the right thing. </li><li>Work with administration to facilitate roll out of Restorative Practices. </li></ul> <p>Tier 2:</p> <ul> <li>Create and conduct small group re-teaching sessions based on collected data. </li><li>Conduct and Facilitate Check in/Check-out interventions. </li><li>Facilitate Restorative Circles/Practices with students and staff. </li><li>Provide individual mental health and behavioral sessions to students in frequent need. </li><li>Help manage, create, and implement Tier 2 Behavior Plans with existing team. </li><li>Facilitate monthly meetings to review Tier 2 Behavior Plans. </li><li>Observe students and teachers in non-evaluative manner. </li><li>Provide suggestions to teachers who need behavioral support. </li><li>Respond to and de-escalate Tier 2 behavior. </li><li>Provide job embedded coaching to classroom teachers based on Trauma informed practices. </li><li>Conduct on-task student observations and provide feedback to teachers and parents. </li></ul> <p>Tier 3:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate services with CMH, DHHS, and other community partners/service providers. </li><li>Respond to and de-escalate in the moment Tier 3 aggressive and unsafe behavior. </li><li>Attend monthly Child Study Meetings. </li><li>Attend and help plan monthly PBIS Meetings </li><li>Work collaboratively with school nurse, DHHS staff, and special education staff and general education staff in the building. </li><li>Help provide families with wrap around services through the Parent Workshops and help families make connections to community services. </li><li>Facilitate monthly meetings to review Tier 3 Behavior Plans. </li><li>Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learning of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional development meetings. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. </li><li>Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. </li><li>Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. </li><li>Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work; those activities where detailed or import spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. </li><li>Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound. </li><li>Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. </li><li>The worker is subject to environmental conditions. </li><li>The worker should provide consistent and reliable in person attendance. </li></ul>
