Learn more about who we are at Point32Health.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Who We Are</p> <p>The Department of Population Medicine (DPM) at Harvard Medical School and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute (HPHCI) is a research and teaching collaboration between Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Harvard Medical School, and is the one of 15 Harvard Medical School affiliates. Our mission is to improve health care delivery and population health through research and education, in partnership with health plans, delivery systems, and public health agencies. As the nation's first medical school appointing department based in a health plan, we are strategically positioned to improve population health and health care delivery locally, nationally, and internationally.</p> <p>The Division of Health Policy and Insurance Research (HPI) is one of five divisions within DPM. Our researchers apply state-of-the-art quasi-experimental and other research methods to study pressing health policy questions. We have extensive experience in curating and using electronic health system data including health insurance claims, medical records, and surveys. HPI areas of interest include public and private health insurance, delivery systems, pharmaceuticals, and maternal health policies, and a wide range of disease areas (e.g., diabetes, mental health, cancer).</p> <p>HPHCI is also a part of Point32Health. To learn more about who we are at Point32Health, click here.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The Research Assistant will work in the Division of Health Policy and Insurance Research (HPI). Specifically, the Research Assistant will support a project focused on promoting biosimilar drug use in the US, which will entail a comparative assessment of the role of patents in biosimilar entry in the US and the UK and a scoping review of the impact of the US patent system on the timely marketing of biosimilars. The research assistant will conduct literature searches, review patents and patent litigation (no prior experience needed), complete administrative applications, and perform data coordination activities. The Research Assistant reports to the Project Manager and will interact with HPHCI project staff. This position requires excellent communication and writing skills for close collaboration with investigators and project managers. This part-time position is funded through the end of 2027.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities/Duties - what you will be doing</p> <ul> <li>Supports coordination of all project timelines and task lists. </li><li>Provides support to project team. </li><li>Assists with deliverable preparation. </li><li>Coordinates data collection, including creating and maintaining project databases </li><li>Conduct literature searches and reviews. </li><li>Performs day-to-day general tasks in support of research studies. </li><li>Works on special projects, as needed. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications - what you need to perform the job</p> <p>EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in public health or a related field strongly preferred. </li></ul> <p>EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in public health or a related field strongly preferred plus 1 or more years of relevant experience with tasks related to health policy research including literature reviews, deliverable preparation, and data extraction. </li></ul> <p>SKILL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Able to work independently with excellent judgment, prioritize work, operate under tight deadlines, and meet deadlines. </li><li>Strong writing and communication skills; able to communicate and collaborate effectively and regularly with senior level staff, investigators, and external stakeholders. </li><li>Proficiency with various software packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and other desktop tools. </li><li>Resilient, collaborative, flexible, innovative </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to work under normal office conditions and work from home as required. </li><li>Work may require simultaneous use of a telephone/headset and PC/keyboard and sitting for extended durations. </li></ul> <p>Salary Range</p> <p>$20.69 -$31.03</p> <p>Compensation & Total Rewards Overview</p> <p>The annual base salary range provided for this position represents a range of salaries for this role and similar roles across the organization. The actual salary for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope and complexity of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; as well as internal equity. As part of our comprehensive total rewards program, colleagues are also eligible for variable pay.
