Your best is waiting to be discovered.</p> <p>Day - 08 Hour (United States of America)</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Manager of Environmental Services (EVS) is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley's environmental services function. The EVS Manager will ensure effective daily operations maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors at the hospital and assigned ancillary locations. This role involves managing a team of environmental services workers, fostering strong relationships with EVS leadership, and ensuring high standards of cleanliness. Overall, the Manager of Environmental Services plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment within the hospital, ensuring compliance with regulations, and contributing to a positive patient experience.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Manage daily operations of the environmental services team, providing guidance and direction to achieve operational excellence. </li><li>Interpret and adhere to environmental services policies and procedures that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. </li><li>Adhere to all local, state, and federal environmental regulations, including infection prevention and control practices. </li><li>Effectively manages the department's budget, expenses, and resources. </li><li>Hire, train, and evaluate the environmental services staff to ensure individual performance meets organizational expectations and regulatory requirements. </li><li>Participate in facility inspections in partnership with EVS leadership and key stakeholders to ensure compliance with established standards and identify areas for improvement. </li><li>Collaborate with other hospital departments and leaders to ensure a safe and healthy environment for employees, patients, and visitors. </li><li>Regularly monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement. </li><li>Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and linen, and ensuring proper functioning and maintenance of responsible cleaning equipment. </li><li>Ensure staff are properly trained on a regular basis in procedures for safety, infection prevention, and waste management. </li><li>Effectively communicate with staff, other departments, and hospital leadership regarding environmental services operations and initiatives. </li></ul> <p>Job Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>High school graduate or equivalent </li><li>Bachelor's degree in facilities management, healthcare administration, or related field preferred. </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of three (3) years of progressive healthcare experience in environmental services or related roles. </li><li>Minimum of one (1) year of management or supervisory experience in environmental services or related field. </li></ul> <p>License:</p> <ul> <li>Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) certification is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of Environmental Services supplies and their uses. </li><li>Knowledge of hospital Environmental Services quality standards and methods. </li><li>Skilled in various methods of written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Skilled in problem-solving, with the capacity to grasp situations in a rapidly changing environment and provide effective solutions. </li><li>Ability to teach others on OSHA, TJC, Title 22, and Department of Health Services standards. </li><li>Ability to develop and maintain strong client and employee relationships. </li><li>Ability to develop and motivate a team to exceed client expectations. </li><li>Ability to operate and maintain Environmental Service equipment. </li><li>Ability to understand data, reporting, and KPIs. </li><li>Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting and moving equipment. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demand and Working Conditions</p> <p>The work involves considerable physical exertion such as frequent lifting of equipment, bending and stooping, and walking. The work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working with risk of exposure to contagious disease, radiation or infection, or working with emotionally disturbed patients. Precautions are routine for nearly all situations. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.</p>
