<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Assistant Teacher (Job ID 1127)</p> <p>BASES (Before and After School Extended Services)</p> <p>Part-Time</p> <p>Located in Vogel Wetmore School, Torrington, CT</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>EdAdvance is seeking a qualified applicant to work in the BASES (Before and After School Extended Services) After School Program in Torrington. The qualified candidate will be professional, have experience working with elementary school-aged children, possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be available during after-school hours (3:15 pm-6:00 pm). Vogel Wetmore staff are encouraged to apply. The Assistant Teacher works under the supervision of the Site Coordinator and the BASES Administrative Team.</p> <p>Major Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist the Site Coordinator in the operation of the after-school program daily </li><li>Supervise children and provide a safe, welcoming environment </li><li>Maintain positive relationships with families, children, and school personnel </li><li>Set up and clean up of program site </li><li>First Aid/CPR/Meds Admin certification to be acquired within 3 months of hire </li><li>Other duties as may be assigned </li><li>Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this position </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Requires High School Diploma or equivalent, college course work in ECE/ELED or related field preferred </li><li>Experience working with School Aged Children </li><li>Knowledge of Child Development </li><li>Awareness of Age-Appropriate curriculum activities </li><li>Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to stand for the entire shift and move through program space (indoor and outdoor) with students. </li></ul> <p>Application Procedure:</p> <p>Applications should be submitted for consideration by visiting EdAdvance's employment page at, http://edadvance.org/about-us/employment, and click on the APPLY button next to the job posting of interest.</p> <p>Human Resources</p> <p>EdAdvance</p> <p>P.O.
