<p>Delivers relevant curriculum and assessments for students to be certified by National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA). Provides classroom instruction to students to successfully pass course competencies. Collaborate with Veterinary Technician Program Director to support program success.</p> <p>Macomb Community College Adjunct Faculty demonstrate deep subject matter knowledge and provide effective instruction to students using various modalities including, but not limited to, on campus, online, remote, hybrid, and flexible learning. Adjunct Faculty are responsive to their students and support their success through timely communication, feedback, and assessment of student learning.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Comply with Veterinary Technician Program USDA, IACUC, AAHA and AVMA requirements and standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Update program handbook as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Update program curriculum as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Lead student information sessions prior to enrollment</p> </li><li> <p>Prompt completion of student grades and classroom paperwork as requested</p> </li><li> <p>Schedule lab assistants to provide appropriate student to teacher ratio to ensure animal and student safety.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare reports for the bi-yearly Veterinary Advisory meetings</p> </li><li> <p>Promotes and supports student success in the classroom</p> </li><li> <p>Assessment: Have knowledge of and demonstrated ability to assess learning outcomes by program accreditation guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Learning Theory and Practice: Knowledge of, or commitment to learn and use concepts and practices promoting effective teaching and learning including using the college's learning management system, CANVAS</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate and supervise student practicum experiences</p> </li><li> <p>Contact appropriate clinical sites that meet the NAVTA standards</p> </li><li> <p>Select sites for each student based on their strengths and weaknesses and what the clinical site has to offer</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate and supervise student internship experience</p> </li><li> <p>Develop Letter of Intent (Partner Agreements) to be signed by internship coordinator, student and clinical site</p> </li><li> <p>Confirm that all students have all required health records prior to internship</p> </li><li> <p>Arrange for ID badges for students</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain all evaluation forms and time sheets and issue a final grade for the internship</p> </li><li> <p>Effectively act as a liaison to veterinary community.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned in compliance with the AAFMCC collective bargaining agreement.</p> </li></ul> <p>Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)Must hold licensure as an LVT in the State of Michigan. Must have a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a practicing licensed professional as an LVT. Three years of teaching experience preferred but not required.</p>
