The role offers hands-on experience in local government operations and policy implementation. Will also shadow the Department Director while assisting the Executive Assistant.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Representative Duties/Assignments</p> <ul> <li>Assist with data collection, entry, and analysis for departmental reports and planning initiatives. </li><li>Prepare and edit correspondence, presentations, and other official documents. </li><li>Support records management and document organization. </li><li>Attend staff meetings, take notes, and assist with follow-up tasks. </li><li>Conduct research on policies, procedures, and best practices. </li><li>Help coordinate public outreach activities and departmental events. </li><li>Provide general administrative support to the Department Office team. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Currently pursuing a degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Political Science, Organizational management, or a related field. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). </li><li>Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. </li></ul> <p>Preferences</p> <ul> <li>Prefer applicantwith interest in local government and/or the public sector </li></ul> <p>Application Deadline</p> <p>Open Date: 04/29/2025</p> <p>Close Date: 05/16/2025</p> <p>This posting is subject to close without prior notice.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>Pay Grade: 406 - From $16.08 to $17.15</p> <p>FLSA Status:</p> <p>Placement based on Education and Experience</p> <p>Veterans Preference</p> <p>If you are claiming Veterans' Preference, you are responsible for providing the required eligibility documentation by the closing date of the posting.
