<p>General Summary:</p> <p>Here at Steve Madden, we are seeking a candidate with an aesthetic and taste level that coincide with our brand to work as our CAD Artist/Design Assistant in the footwear division. This role will work alongside our design team to help with the day-to-day Illustrator and Photoshop duties for current and future collections.</p> <p>Major Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist the design team in the creation of CADs for sku selection </li><li>Work closely with the sales team for CAD requests to be presented to clients </li><li>Organize and maintain the materials library </li><li>Support design to meet all administrative needs such as updating virtual wall, line sheets and organizing development samples/library </li><li>Daily communication with overseas team and internal cross functional partners regarding development details & follow-up, timing, deliveries, costing options, etc. </li><li>Responsible for creating and updating specs </li><li>Work closely with the production team for continuous updates on any updates and changes to product </li><li>Organize sourcing decks, approve artwork, and review trials </li><li>Attend local textile fairs and in-house appointments with director to review seasonal lines </li><li>Regularly shop competitors and aspirational brands for research </li><li>Create trend reports based on market intelligence and research </li></ul> <p>Job Specific Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work and CAD in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Sketching is a plus </li><li>Computer proficiency in Mac, Word, Excel, Outlook </li><li>Very strong Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator skills </li><li>High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills </li><li>Strong design aesthetic </li><li>Proven follow-up and follow through skills </li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks with shifting priorities </li><li>Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills </li><li>Ability to communicate clearly both written and verbal </li></ul> <p>FULL TIME POSITIONS: The expected base salary for this position ranges from $26.44/hr - $31.25/hr. Ranges are based on various factors such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
