<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledgeable and adheres to all safety procedures including hazardous energy control (lockout/tagout) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). </li><li>Participate in daily activities associated with the safe and reliable operation of the facility. </li><li>Gain knowledge of combined cycle electric generating plant operations through team interaction and self-directed research. </li><li>Work activities may include such items as preparation of reports, calculations, specifications, and scope documents as well as generating sketches and drawings to support projects. </li><li>Work with the facility equipment and learn to analyze and troubleshoot problems. </li><li>Assist the operations and maintenance departments with daily and routine activities such as system and equipment surveillance rounds, water and steam cycle chemistry, and predictive and preventive maintenance tasks. </li><li>Establishes good working relationships with facility teammates, team leaders, and management. </li><li>Participate in training programs as assigned, including both instructor led and computer based, with a focus on health, safety, environmental, technical (power plant/combined cycle plant operations and maintenance), and human resources. </li><li>Assists with special projects, as assigned. </li><li>Expected to develop and present an "Exit Presentation" highlighting their accomplishments during the internship to facility staff. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills / Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Able to follow instructions and be a team player. </li><li>Effective verbal and written communications skills. </li><li>Ability to read P&IDs and electrical schematics is a plus. </li><li>Advanced user knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Access, and Outlook). </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Previous demonstrated experience in an industrial production environment with a proven record of accomplishment is preferred, but not required. </li><li>Mechanical aptitude is desired. </li></ul> <p>Education Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in an ABET accredited Engineering program at a four-year college or university. </li><li>Electrical, Mechanical or Power Engineering (or equivalent) students preferred. </li><li>Must have a 3.0 GPA or greater. </li><li>Must be a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). </li><li>Ability to do walking, reaching, climbing, and stooping and lifting (up to 50 pounds). </li><li>Ability to enter confined spaces and work at heights. </li></ul> <p>What We Offer</p> <ul> <li>Supportive company culture that values its employees </li></ul>
