View more information about our Equity Initiative here.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Mathematics Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field. </li><li>Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification. </li><li>Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience, including demonstrated success teaching mathematics and supporting students with diverse learning needs. </li><li>Demonstrated expertise in mathematics instruction, including conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and mathematical discourse. </li><li>Strong understanding of K-12 mathematics learning progressions, Pennsylvania Academic Standards, assessment practices, and evidence-based instructional strategies. </li><li>Ability to analyze student learning data and support data-informed instructional decision making. </li><li>Strong communication, collaboration, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with teachers, administrators, instructional coaches, and staff. </li><li>Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Prior instructional coaching, mentoring, curriculum leadership, or professional development experience. </li><li>Experience facilitating professional learning communities, collaborative inquiry, and adult learning. </li><li>Experience supporting curriculum implementation, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), differentiated instruction, and inclusive instructional practices. </li><li>Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, instructional resource evaluation, or curriculum review and adoption processes. </li><li>Experience leading or supporting mathematics curriculum initiatives, assessment development, or instructional improvement efforts. </li></ul> <p>Description</p> <p>The School District of Springfield Township is seeking candidates who possess excellent interpersonal skills, a passion for mathematics teaching and learning, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a professional learning community. SDST is committed to diversity in our workplace and welcomes the opportunity to consider all candidates.</p> <p>This position will serve as the district's K-12 Mathematics Instructional Coach. The Mathematics Instructional Coach is a teacher-leader who partners with educators to strengthen mathematics teaching and learning across the district. Through job-embedded coaching, professional learning, collaborative inquiry, and curriculum support, the coach works alongside teachers to build instructional capacity and improve student outcomes in mathematics.</p> <p>The Mathematics Instructional Coach supports the implementation of high-quality mathematics instruction that promotes conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and mathematical discourse. The coach collaborates with teachers, instructional coaches, specialists, and administrators to ensure equitable learning opportunities and a coherent K-12 mathematics program aligned with district priorities.</p> <p>A significant responsibility of this role will be supporting the district's upcoming K-8 mathematics curriculum review and resource adoption process. This position is non-evaluative and is grounded in collaboration, reflection, continuous improvement, and building teacher capacity to improve student learning.</p> <p>In this role, the Mathematics Instructional Coach will:</p> <ul> <li>Partner with teachers through non-evaluative coaching cycles that may include co-planning, classroom modeling, co-teaching, observation, reflection, and collaborative problem-solving. </li><li>Support teachers in implementing high-quality mathematics instruction focused on conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and discourse. </li><li>Facilitate professional learning, collaborative inquiry, and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) aligned to district priorities. </li><li>Support teachers in using student learning data, assessment results, and instructional evidence to inform planning, intervention, and enrichment. </li><li>Collaborate with teachers, specialists, instructional coaches, and administrators to strengthen mathematics instruction and support diverse learners through a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). </li><li>Model research-based mathematics instructional practices and support the effective implementation of district curriculum, resources, and assessments. </li><li>Facilitate and support the district-wide K-8 mathematics curriculum review, evaluation, resource adoption, and implementation process. </li><li>Support curriculum development, instructional resource selection, and vertical alignment of mathematics instruction across grade levels and buildings. </li><li>Maintain current knowledge of mathematics education research and best practices and share relevant learning with district educators. </li><li>Foster collaborative relationships that promote professional growth, collective teacher efficacy, and continuous improvement. </li></ul> <p>This list of responsibilities in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position. The candidate will be required to follow any other job-related instructions and perform other job-related duties requested by the supervisor of the position.</p> <p>Terms of employment:</p> <p>Full-time, contracted position to be determined in accordance with the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement. Position to begin August 24, 2026. Please note that induction will take place the week of August 17th.
