<p>Swim Chaperone</p> <p>POSITION TITLE:</p> <p>Swim Chaperone</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: Instruction</p> <p>REPORTS TO:</p> <p>Principal</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY: This position assists with supervision of students participating in Confluence Academies' summer school swimming program in partnership with the YMCA. This position will promote and adhere to the principles of the Safety Around Water (SAW) initiative.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Assist teachers and administrators with preparing students to board the bus for travel to and from designated pool area </li><li>Serve as bus monitor/chaperone while traveling to and from designated pool area </li><li>Serve as chaperone while students participate in swim lessons and unstructured swimming/activities </li><li>Maintain positive relationships with staff and students </li><li>Maintain a courteous, professional, and effective manner at all times </li><li>Perform other tasks or projects as assigned </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Education and Experience: Must be enrolled at a Confluence Academies high school for the 2021-2022 school year and qualify as a junior or senior based on credit hours passed. Must be at least 16 years old.</p> <p>Language Skills: Ability to read and analyze and interpret technical procedures and instructions. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.</p> <p>Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, other basic math functions.</p> <p>Technology Abilities: Ability to understand and operate technology in an instructional setting while using a variety of standardized methods.</p> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The employee must be able to hear, and determine where noises are coming from.</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Building supervision often requires the employee to be outside in all sorts of weather or conditions. The noise level in this environment is quiet to loud depending upon the activity in the particular part of the day and location.</p>
