<p>About the Job</p> <p>Our lab incorporates our dedication to multidisciplinary research. The Clinical Research Professional will assist with multiple ongoing NIH funded projects or other projects, as directed, with competing and distinct timelines and deliverables. A successful candidate will employ knowledge of previous clinical/research experience for gathering and analyzing data. The employee will, in concert with senior researchers, continuously improve data analysis methodologies in support of the unique translational research of the NMRC. This position is a .75 FTE. Schedule is M-F, however, it can be flexible outside of core duties.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <p>? 90% Clinical Data Analysis: A successful candidate will compile interpret and analyze results from clinical research data, clinical data and other data as directed.</p> <p>? 5% Provide Scientific and/or Medical Support: Use prior experience and knowledge in order to provide support for gathering data from clinical charts and other clinical documents, as needed or directed.</p> <p>? 5% Presentation and Publication: Assist with data and figure publication preparation. Present research at conferences, symposia, and colloquia or for publication in scientific journals.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>All required qualifications must be included in the application materials</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <p>? BA/BS in biomedical engineering, neuroscience, or similar health science-related degree and or work experience to equal at least four years</p> <p>? Demonstrate an understanding of the rudiments of Deep Brain Stimulation, particularly as it relates to movement disorders: its neural effects, application, and efficacy in treating the symptoms of movement disorders.</p> <p>? Has experience with or working knowledge of best practice navigation of medical records.</p> <p>? Has experience with coding and data analysis (e.g., MATLAB, Python).</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>? Practicum relating to the treatment or research of neurodegenerative disorders.</p> <p>? Experience with dissemination of research, either through poster presentation or manuscript publication.</p> <p>? Experience with processing data derived from and/or imaging (e.g. fMRI) practices related to the placement of the Medtronic family of DBS electrodes in a clinical setting.</p> <p>About the Department</p> <p>The Neuromodulation Research Center focuses on understanding the pathophysiology of movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease and dystonia as well as the mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effect of deep brain stimulation. Much of the work focuses on the ultimate translation of basic laboratory research discoveries into clinical treatment options for affected patients in order to reduce symptoms, minimize side effects and enhance function and quality of life.
