<p>Teacher Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required. </li><li>Prepare lessons that reflect accommodation for individual student differences. </li><li>Present the subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, campus policies, and administrative regulations. </li><li>Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the student groups involved. </li><li>Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods in accordance with district requirements. </li><li>Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and/or volunteer(s). </li><li>Employ the use of technologies in the teaching/learning process. </li><li>Assist students in analyzing and improving methods and habits of study. </li><li>Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required. </li><li>Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and may sponsor outside activities approved by the school. </li><li>Present for students a positive role model that supports the mission of the school district. </li><li>Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. </li><li>Establish control in the classroom and administer discipline in accordance with board policies, campus policies, and administrative regulations. </li><li>Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. </li><li>Assist in the selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials. </li><li>Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents. </li><li>Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents and community members. </li><li>Use acceptable communication skills to present information accurately and clearly. </li><li>Participate in the district staff development program. </li><li>Demonstrate interest and initiative in professional improvement. </li><li>Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible. </li><li>Keep informed of and comply with state, district and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers. </li><li>Compile, maintain and file all reports, records and other documents required. </li><li>Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required </li></ul> <p>Coaching Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student athletes in the sport assigned. </li><li>Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. </li><li>Work with other members of school staff to plan and put in place instructional goals and objectives to ensure the overall educational development of student athletes. </li><li>Take all necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities. </li><li>Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate students' athletic abilities initially and on a regular basis. </li><li>Keep informed of and ensure compliance with all UIL rules. </li><li>Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation. </li><li>Work with athletic director to schedule competitions and coordinate arrangements. </li><li>Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of coaching program and make changes based on findings. </li><li>Accompany and supervise student athletes during athletic competitions in assigned sports on out-of-town trips. </li><li>Instruct and advise students on NCAA regulations with regard to academic requirements for scholarships and recruiting practices. </li><li>Apply and enforce student discipline during athletic contests, practice sessions, and while on trips off school property in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook. </li><li>Encourage, by example and through instruction, sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of athletic participation. </li><li>Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers. </li><li>Review district e-mail at appropriate time(s) during the school day. </li><li>Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members. </li><li>Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly. </li><li>Assist in selection of equipment and instructional materials. </li><li>Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required. </li><li>Maintain a current inventory of all fixed assets within program. </li><li>Oversee process of cleaning, repairing, and storing all campus athletic equipment </li><li>Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills. </li><li>Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers. </li><li>Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required in a timely manner. </li><li>Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required. </li><li>Arrive and depart school at designated times as required by campus principal. </li><li>Perform any supplemental duties as required by campus principal. </li><li>Notify campus principal prior to leaving campus during the school day. </li><li>Notify campus secretary/principal at earliest possible time if absence from or tardiness to work is needed. </li><li>Comply with all laws, policies, regulations and administrative directives. </li></ul>
