<p>Coordinator of Student Support Services</p> <p>JOB STATUS: OPEN POSTING DATE: 12/08/2025 CLOSING DATE: 12/19/2025 04:00 PM POSTING NUMBER: 051641 LOCATION: Admin Community Outreach - 884 POSITION TITLE: Coordinator of Student Support Services</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION:</p> <p>Support and implement the District Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) programs including academic and behavior RTI and Positive Behavior Interventions & Support (PBIS), social emotional learning (SEL) programs and Special Education. Serve as an instructional leader in evaluating, coordinating, monitoring, and developing the District's behavioral and academic interventions.</p> <p>DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Support the design and implementation of the District's policies and procedures that address all students' academic and social-emotional-behavior needs for overall success. </li><li>Increases awareness of the MTSS process (including RtI, PBIS, and SEL) through professional learning at the district and campus level. </li><li>Collaborate with district-level leaders on the MTSS to provide cohesive support across the district. </li><li>Collaborate with campus leaders and staff on concerns or processes within MTSS and Special Education. </li><li>Work with school personnel to ensure the appropriate Individual Education Plans (IEPs) are implemented to meet the needs of students with disabilities. </li><li>Research, monitor, and support interventions for Tier II and Tier III implementation. </li><li>Analyze outcomes and evaluate instructional programs and interventions to recommend appropriate changes in materials and implementation. </li><li>Provide recommendations for ways in which the curriculum and teaching can be adapted to meet the learning needs of struggling students including students receiving special education services. </li><li>Provide support to special education teachers by providing professional learning opportunities in IEP development and implementation. </li><li>Assist with creating effective classrooms for students with disabilities. </li><li>Communicate and collaborate with administrators, teachers and parents concerning positive behavior supports. </li><li>Attend Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee meetings as needed. </li><li>Assist in the development of effective instructional and behavior intervention strategies to ensure student success and goal mastery. </li><li>Recommend policies, regulations, and procedures as appropriate </li><li>Prepare and maintain necessary reports and/or descriptive statistics of the assigned discipline area. </li><li>Identify short and long-range goals for assigned discipline area based on assessment of need, goals of the Teaching and Learning department, and the District mission statement and goals. </li><li>Work as a collaborative member of the Teaching & Learning Team. </li><li>Assist with creating effective classrooms for all students. </li><li>Act as a liaison to building principals in interpreting procedures and guidelines concerning behavior as related to general education, special education, and 504. </li><li>Assist with interviewing, evaluating, and supervising prospective personnel. </li><li>Assist with budget preparation and planning. </li><li>Consult positively and effectively with principals, teachers, assistant principals, team leaders, department chairs, and parents. </li><li>Demonstrate skill in conflict resolution and crisis management. </li><li>Monitor student achievement data of students receiving special education services and act on results. </li><li>Monitor discipline data of all students and act on results. </li><li>Monitor Student Support staff to ensure smooth and efficient communication with campuses and other central office staff. </li><li>Assist with T-TESS upon request. </li><li>Assist principals regarding personnel, upon request. </li><li>Implement the policies established by Federal and State law, State Board of Education rules, and Board policy as pertains to the assigned discipline area. </li><li>Demonstrate responsible fiscal control over assigned program budgets. </li><li>Recommend space, equipment, instructional materials, and facilities necessary for the implementation of approved programs. </li><li>Supervise the organization, distribution, and maintenance of instructional materials and equipment as appropriate. </li><li>Seek grant funding as pertains to assigned discipline area. </li><li>Ensure that teacher expectations are effective in furthering the teaching/learning process and environment. </li><li>Support the District and campus procedures that enhance a safe and collaborative culture. </li><li>Ensure teacher expectations for student management procedures and classroom environment are developmentally appropriate. </li><li>Facilitate collaboration between general education and special education personnel. </li><li>Keep informed of research, disseminate ideas to other professionals, identify trends and opportunities and apply this information as appropriate. </li><li>Demonstrate steps taken for professional growth. </li><li>Observe professional and ethical standards in accordance with generally accepted community standards. </li><li>Maintain memberships and active participation in professional organizations. </li><li>Develop training opportunities and programs for the purpose of improving the performance of staff members. </li><li>Communicate District curriculum, instructional and staff development practices in the area MTSS (including RtI, SEL, and PBIS) and Special Education as well as accomplishments, goals, and instructional initiatives to parents and others in the community. </li><li>Solicit community input on curriculum and instructional issues. </li><li>Use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li><li>Maintain regular attendance. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality. </li></ul> <p>EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Three years successful administrative experience at the secondary level or elementary level </li><li>Experience in teaching students with disabilities </li><li>Experience creating and delivering staff development </li><li>Experience conducting functional behavioral assessments and writing behavior intervention plans for students </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Education/Certification:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Education </li><li>Master's degree in related field </li><li>Valid Texas teaching certificate, to include Special Education </li><li>Valid Principal certificate </li></ul> <p>Special Knowledge/Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Expertise in Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS), including Foundations </li><li>Expertise in classroom management process (CHAMPS) </li><li>Understanding of core principles of MTSS, including RtI, PBIS and SEL </li><li>Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness </li><li>Strong background in differentiated instruction </li><li>Expertise in curriculum, instruction, and professional learning </li><li>Ability to utilize technology for data reports </li><li>Knowledge of special education procedures </li><li>Understanding of core principles of curriculum-based measurement </li><li>Ability to interpret data to support development of Tier III interventions </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to lead and motivate other staff members </li><li>Ability to manage crisis situations </li><li>Understanding of data collection as it pertains
