We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Reading Teacher to join our team and support our mission of student success.The ideal candidate will provide high-quality reading instruction to students, fostering a love for literacy and supporting student growth in reading skills.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide targeted Tier II and/or Tier III reading instruction to students in small group and/or individual settings </li><li>Deliver reading intervention using research based and systematic programs </li><li>Utilize various instructional strategies to improve students' reading comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary, based on data </li><li>Develop and implement engaging, differentiated lesson plans to meet diverse student needs </li><li>Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly </li><li>Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to create comprehensive learning plans </li><li>Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families and administration </li><li>Assist with administration of Universal Screener Assessments and Diagnostic Testing </li><li>Be a member of the MTSS team </li><li>Participate in professional development and team meetings </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field (Master's Degree preferred) </li><li>NYS Teaching Certification in Literacy or related area </li><li>Experience providing reading intervention and literacy instruction </li><li>Strong knowledge of evidence-based reading instruction strategies </li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills </li><li>Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Dual NYS certification preferred: Elementary and Literacy </li><li>Special Education Preferred </li><li>NYSED Fingerprint Clearance* </li></ul> <p>Employment Terms:</p> <ul> <li>10 month, full time probationary position </li><li>Salary range in accordance with the Eastchester Teachers Association (ETA) negotiated salary schedule; $62,620 - $86,668, step placement contingent upon prior related experience. Direct experience, additional certification and credits may increase salary range. Internal transfers will maintain their step and salary placement. </li><li>Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law §§305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES).
